Help me plz :)

You need patch tomtom home only if you use "operate my device" option in HOME.
First time you use it , program ask you to download some files...
After download shutdown tomtom home and patch it. then start it again

1. humm, FastActivate don't ask you to download some file. TT Home "Operate my device" does.
2. You can't upgrade speedcam FREE with tomtom home, except USA & Canada. Go here: TomTom Official Speed Cams 24.05.11

I have downloaded the Europe 870_3460 maps and copied it to an SD card in my 530. However, when I run FastActivate it only picks up the TomTom itself and doesn't offer the SD card as a drive letter, even though the SD card is in the TomTom and visible in Windows Explorer.....what do I need to do to get FastActivate to see the SD card? I have also tried running FastActivate from the root of the SD card, it still only sees the TomTom itself.

Also put a copy of your 530's ttgo.bif file on the card, then run FastActivate.

Help - may have borked my XL!

I was interested in activating some of the voices found here, and I ran Fastactivate. I had updated and legit maps on my device, which no longer work. I did not realize that the program would affect the maps - just the voices. How can I restore my TomTom to pre-fastactivate status? I (foolishly) did not backup the device first. Should I delete the "maps" and "USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P" folders, and then try to install them again using Home? Just one of those folders? Factory reset of the device? I have lifetime maps, so I'd prefer to use those. Any advice for helping me fix my newbie mistake is appreciated.

I used the lite version, and only clicked on the map/voice button. I have moved the old USA/Canada folder off the device, and am reinstalling from TomTom Home. Hopefully, that will fix the problem.

What version is your XL?
FFR, You have to patch ALL or NOTHING. Since you didn't patch the navcore & are able to download your map from TT Home, you will be OK.

It is the 340 TM. So, is there no way to activate the premium voices and continue to use the normal maps (I assume that is the NOTHING option above...)?

Also, once it finishes reinstalling the map, will I also have to delete & reinstall the factory-installed voices because of the patch?

Thanks for the quick response.

1. No way at all. If your unit had a SD card, there is a work around.

2. What factory installed voices are on your 340?

Ok... so I followed the tutorial, which seems to be very easy, but I can't have my new map working on my TT Go720, then I've tried many things with no succes, my mind is getting tired so I need some help.

On my SD-HC Card (4Go) , I have a recent Western Europe 875_3613 folder, I also have the FastActivator 1.8.7.2.exe and a ttgo.bif file that I copied from the GO720. Is it all that I need on the SD ?
In the GO720 I have an old Map (Western Europe). Navcore is V8.351.

If I start the GO720 and follow the instructions to select maps, I can select the old map, but the new map remains locked (You can't use this map...)

So, I inserted the SD Card in the PC and launch the exe file...
1st Button - Update meta.txt : I get the message 'Downloading, please Wait", then nothing's happening, back to the main window. Is it normal ? What should happen at this stage ?
2nd button - Maps/Voices/Speecams : I get the message "File ttgo.bif not found", but the file IS at the root of the SD card !
Same thing with the 3rd button : "File ttgo.bif not found"

Should I put the SDCard into the GO720 to activate the maps ? I tried this and the same things happen...

I don't know what to do now .... maybe I should erase everything and try again ?
but there are some things I'd like to know :

- Once I have my Go720 backup restaured, and the SD Card ready with the new Map and FastActivate : Do I have to plug the GO720 to the PC with the SD Card IN the GO 720 ? or work with a SD Card reader ?
- Do I have to copy the ttgo.bif file from GO720 to SD ?
- Do I have to use the FastActivate at the root of the SD Card, at the root of Go720 ? or both ?
- For the TTsystem file : I see the file on the GO720, but not on the SDCard... so I have to copy this file on the SDCard ?

Sorry, but my head doesn't want to go further,
I'll take a pill and go to sleep... so thanks for any help !

If you only use a map on the SD you must have a patched Navcore on the internal memory.
Connect the TT to the PC, copy FastActivate into the root and start the program.
Patch the Navcore and the map should work just fine.
You need a copy of the ttgo.bif on the SD.
Once that is done you can activate the map on the SD with Fast- or AutoActivate.

Well, I tried again, and I had the system working. I deleted the old map, and the TT booted on the new map...
so then I imported some favorites files (voices, MapSettings.cfg, ...) and now the TT is always rebooting :(
DOn't know why.....
Any idea ?
