Thank you for your latest response.
I've just checked the mapfolder for those two files and, they DO exist in there and I'm now puzzled as to what needs to be done next>
1 - United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-388.meta
2 - United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-388.meta
Although the second file is the same as the first file in name, the properties of the file type describe it as a.dct file.

Thanks again for your help.
When you say 'rerun the map patcher', you obviously mean rerun the 'fast activate utility'?
If so, then I've rerun it many times with the same result and error message from my device - it should not be that difficult?
With regard to the map(s) we are trying to activate, does the map have to match the original map that came with the device or, can you install any map (space allowing) to the device from any country and then successfully activate it?

1. Although I have all three version of fast activate, I'm using 'fast activate premium' and, starting from left to right, I use the first three tabs and correct me if I'm wrong, but tab three is the one that patches the navcore?
2. With reference to the last tab, "tomtom home", I have also used this tab but not sure if I need to?
3. Ok, with regard to the sofware content on my ONE 3rd Edition, I'm not sure if I mentioned it in my initial post, but I accidentally erased the content from my device and had no 'back up', so that's I was looking on the web for a way to get it back on the device.
4. I downloaded a torrent called "TomTom_Map_Collection_Sep_2011_Please_Seed" and this has many maps inside and also the fast activate utility.
5. I chose UK & ROI v875.3615 and this is the order that I install the software back to the device:
6. Connect to TomTom Home (but never login) and then download all available updates including the APP version the, after rebooting the device a couple of times, I copy the map folder to the device and the use 'fast activate premium'. Sometimes it worked and some times it did not but, at the moment I have the .dct and .meta files in the map folder.
7. The map appears to work ok but it did not have the UK post codes in there, so I copied the folder from another tomtom satnav I have and it works ok. I don't think that I the 'safety cameras' for the UK, on the device, is there a way to get them?
8. At the moment, the only two issues I can see is when I choose the 'operate my one' tab, when the satnav appears on TomTom Home, I get the message, "you cannot use this map on this device".
9. The other issue is with my chosen 'voice'; when I test the voice on the device, it for example, it says - you have 500 metres to your destination. I don't understand why the voice gives the distance in 'metric' because I have chosen 'imperial' in the options.
Ok that's it for the moment but, so that you can see the information full about my device, I have included the 'system information' below.
