MAHA! Okie dokie, i seem to have been a moron of sorts, when i updated/whatever. It was creating the extension of .dct however they were being created with something like "data39.hck.dct" i've simply deleted the .HCK part, and they all work fine now, TRES strange.

Come across this before? :S

Cheers!

Oh now i've got another problem, why me?

So my tomtom now states that the voices are installed (billy conolly and spongebob), so i try to select them from the menu and it states "you did not select a useable voice"

If this is another type of problem feel free to delete this and i'll ask elsewhere, i check online, and no-one seems to have a real answer for it (except for when running them off of a GPS phone). So it all seems to be there, just won't play the new ones and that, confuzzeling.

Any ideas this time? Sorry to kep bothering you!

Ok Start again,

 • Delite the voices from the "voices" folder
 • Download the voices again (Find them attached to this message)
 • Copy the 3 files from each archive to your voices folder, .chk , .vif , .bmp
 • Download FastActivate 1.3 Light Edition Here
 • copy the .exe to your root dir.
 • run the .exe
 • Press "Activate maps/voices/speedcams"
 • Done!

Those 2 voices should now work for you ;)

Thanks for the help, i did everything you said, acctualy uninstalled all voices from my tomtom (but saved them to the computer first). After reinstalling and then using the lite version, it still producing a data98.chk.dct as before it's putting the chk in there. So i remove that .chk bit in order for the voices to apear on the tomtom. However then it keeps stating "you did not select a usable voice"

I'm guessing it's my tomtom or something :/ I feel like giving up, but Billy Connolly is so tempting >.<

Thank you so much for your help so far, i know i'm being a serious pain.

Sorry i mis understood an earlyer post from you,you typed the message wrong and said .hck instead of .chk and i did not realise as i have had a stresfull night with the 2 kids lol ;),

data??.chk.dct <-- this is correct and how a correctly patchd voice should be, DO NOT remove the .chk ;) and they should work follow my instructions exactly in the last post and DO NOT edit any filenames at all

Ok all done, sorta of. >throws tomtom out the window<

Still no good, >sigh< i dunno whats wrong with the poor old thing, it used to be so good at everything. This time didn't delete the CHK bit, and none of the voices show up in the selection menu. However as i stated, if i remove the CHK bit, they do apear, but they won't let me select them.

It has ot be my tomtom, everyone else seems to have breezed it :/

No worries, i gues i'll just keep trying and trying and trying in different ways until it gets it rite; or doesn't as the case maybe.

When it comes down to it, i'll just blame it on Vista, even if it's tested and 100% works on vista, i like to blame everything on that.

We have the main topic as a sticky so there is no need to make the discussion topic as a sticky as there is a link to get to this topic in the main topic here http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2011-FastActivate_09.07.2010&p=7867#post7867

but thanks for your suggestion
