Fastactivate throwing up trojan virus scan alert

Tue Nov 06, 2012 8:53 pm

Hi

when i run fastactivate, my mcafee on access scan pops up and says that the file
tt8_keygen2.exe in an app/data/temp folder is a trojan with application UnRAR.exe in same directory.

Can anyone explain what is going on and how I might fix it?

I am guessing that my machine is infected though Malware bytes does not pick anything up and says it is normal.

Whilst this is going on Fastactivate lists the dct the maps which have already been patched but does not generate new dct files for new maps.

Am I right in thinking that factactivate calls upon tt8_keygen2.exe ?
Has a rogue version of keygen found its way onto my machine

I guess you are here to give advice on tomtom not anti virus strategies, but it you can help then great
Maybe I should run a mcafee on deman scan

I can assure you, there is nothing in FastActivate!! The current version is: FastActivate Premium 1.8.9.0 Updated 04.11.2012

If you still get the warning with this version, I suggest you add it to your McAfee Ignore list / Exceptions list.
