Forgotten What I did....

Postby NSquirrel » Fri Aug 09, 2013 2:59 pm

On my Tomtom 1 screen I have added a soft button, which sets the display to night time -as shown below. The trouble is that I have forgotten how I added it, so am unable to take it away. I know it was from some convoluted menu, but which one? Anyone able to help?

Tomtom One V1 running System 9.17

Thanks.

On my Go930 running 9.510 its Change Preferences/Quick menu Preferences and untick "Switch day/night colours". I imagine it should be similar on yours.

Thanks NT, but I can switch between day and night with the display soft button, as well as the preference setting you mention.

What I am trying to do is to get rid of the soft button overlaid on the map, as shown half way down the left hand side of the picture above. I seem to recall whatever I used to set it gave the option as to where to place the soft button; what to use it for, and how many button to place on the screen -2 or possibly 3 max, I think.

Perhaps I should just reinstall the system and maps.

OK, what am I missing here? TC2 is telling you that if "Switch day/night colors" is checked in Quick menu Preferences, the day/night soft button will be displayed on the map screen. Unchecking it will get rid of the day/night soft button on the map screen, which is your stated goal. Disclaimer: My comment is invalid, if, for some reason, you are using a 3rd party add-on to display the button, instead of the TT built in feature.

Tomtom one v1 is a great device for it's age. What i would do is install Downunders navcore 9.485 with memory boost for 32mb devices and any maps of your choice. This should work very well. Much better than what you've got presently.

Thanks for above comments.

Tendriver: Quick Menu is missing -and yes, it was a 3rd party addon -but which one adds Quick Menus?

dieselman: Thanks for 9.485 suggestion. I will give it a try and, in so doing, remove the Quick menu.

(The Tomtom unit has been virtually unused for several years, but the mention of a holiday in Europe has brought it out and hence I have been 'updating' it...)

What was your source for downloading System 9.17?

Either here or Mobilism, which generally mirrors the files here.

For Quality Control reasons, Navitotal doesn't support downloads from elsewhere. If you are not 100% sure that you downloaded it from us, I suggest that you load 1 of our navcores.

A reinstall removed it. It was via a 3rd party tool, I thought from here -or that someone here may recognize it, but obviously not. Never mind.

BTW, I don't know how 'disneyworld...' got into my previous message. Certainly not from me!

Thanks but no need. That was I why I didn't post a correction, just the observation.
