Go630 questions

Mon Jun 27, 2011 11:55 pm

I've tried to find the answers to these questions, but haven't been able to yet. So... can you all clear up some them?

Do I have to have a map installed on the internal memory or can I just install maps on the SD card?

I've updated maps a couple of times and the old maps are still installed and taking up space. Can I just delete the map folders or are there other files that have to be modified too?

I'm currently running navcore 9.150 and the 870 North Amer 2GB. I use my go630 on a motorcycle and I've been thinking about trying to install a version of the Rider software. Is this possible or is the hardware just too different?

Thanks for any help!

1. You can install maps on the internal or a SD card.
2. You can remove any old maps (cut & paste in case you wish to reinstall them). No mods needed.
3. Rider3 app on non_Rider and old Rider devices

Thanks for the response - I think I'll get a fresh SD card and try the Rider3 install. That way I can back out by swapping in the original card if it turns out I don't like the interface, right?

Sorry for asking the questions, but I'm not confident about the rider install - I feel like I might be missing something...

Starting from a blank SD card, do I:

- paste a copy of my ttgo.bif to the blank card

- install the Rider3 navcore - for example:
[Please Register or Login to download file]
or do I have to find an SE version?

- install my chosen map (checking the chart for functions with 9.205)

- and fastactivate (or other)

- copy the configuration from bmwdriver and paste/replace on my card
or
use the info in his config to modify mine where appropriate.

Am I on the right track?

1. Yes.
2. It is your option to use the 9.205.cab + only the pre-patched ttsystem & PNDNavigator files from here: X_ttsystem.9.205.547817.1.rar overwriting the ttsystem file from the .cab
or use bmwdriver's stuff.
3. Yes.
4. If your map has already been patched for this device, it does not have to be re-patched.
5. Use his configuration.
6. Yes.

I have the setup in #2 on my 720.
