GO715 - Possible to 'update'?

Hi guys, my next project may well involve a couple of GO715's - the devices originally intended to be used in conjunction with a SIM Card. My questions: 1) can they be made to operate like a 'normal' TT with a change of BL & Navcore, and 2) can they be used with the latest available Europe Truck N/c & Map. I am assuming that they come with a standard SD only slot and no onboard memory - not actually had my paws on one yet. My understanding is that they are a very close relative of the 710 with the same cpu and RAM. I've not seen any conclusive postings here concerning this model and the info available from TT themselves is restricted to "it won't work without one of our SIM cards in it". Thoughts, inside knowledge and general advice would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.... Macca

I have no experience with a 715. In fact, I have only seen it referenced once, since I started doing this.

Yes as Tendriver said the Go 715 is a very rare device and i have also only ever seen it talkd about once, but when you get the device take a look at the ttgo.bif file and post it here and we will do our best to help you upgrade it ;)

Were I you, I wouldn't consider getting them without knowing their update capability, unless I was getting them for FREE. You may be starting out with 2 bricks, instead of ending up with bricks.

OK guys, thanks for the responses - not what I was hoping to hear but perhaps a chance for us to learn something... What I DO know so far, is that they will arrive with 7.903 installed (encouraging methinks) ... I respect your second comment [color="lime"]td[/color], and .... I guess the cost is close enough to your preferred figure to make it worth the gamble

They'll not be arriving for a week or two so "watch this space" - as soon as I get them I'll let you guys know. Hopefully [color="navy"]djc[/color], there will be a ttgo.bif to post!
