Hi,
I know this error was discussed many times and I spend last week trying to fix it but I failed. I need some help.

I have TT GO 730 with versions listed below. I'm trying to install new maps for Europe and whatever I do I end up with "Cannot use this map on this device" I downloaded maps and FastActivate, I tried those with installer and patcher. FA says all already patched, but it doesn't work. I don't know where to look at now. I tried most of forum threads ideas but to no avail. :-( I've previously patched it and installed my current map - Europe 800.1762, but this time it just doesn't work. The difference is that this time I try to install on my SD card, not on internal memory. I see the new map (both versions) listed but "cannot use on this device"

Please point me into right direction

Aktivate with number 2 and it should work.

Hi, thanks for reply. That's what I did. I copied it over to SD card and run FastActivate. No joy. I tried it many times on both internal storage and card. When I run it on SD card I got message Map activate OK (or similar, I can't remember from top of my head) against both versions but they still don't work :-( Is there anything I could miss? Any obvious place to look at?

You have the navcore on intern (not on the SD) and you are shure the navcore is patched.

I've run FastActivate from intern and SD, both showed "navcore already patched" I have old Europe map on intern (patched years ago) and on SD card new UK maps that I try to patch. When I run FA on intern I see Europe map patched ok, when I run it on SD card I see UK maps (both) patched ok. This kind of shows that navcore is patched on both intern and SD, doesn't it? (or maybe it points to intern in both cases?) how to check? I'm kinda newbie here... :-(

Seems to me that you doing everything right.

On the SD Card

1) Biffile (ttgo.bif) copy it from internal to SD card.
2) Copie the chosen map
The map United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_970_7466
to your SD Card in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the loose files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.
3) Fast Activate.

ok, thanks. I'll try again in 5 hrs when I'm back from office and update you with results. I'm sure I did it before, but hey, I tried so many things that I can't be sure. Thank you.

Ok we waiting for your feedback.

If the map is patched it will have a *.DCT file contained within the folder...if not copy ttgo.bif and FastActivate into the map folder and run option 2.

Still no joy....reset the device by either the pin hole if it has one, or by holding down the power button until it reboots.

The internal setup, navcore & map with no SD card installed, is the normal default. If you add a SD card with just maps & stuff, but no navcore, the internal setup remains the default. If you add a navcore to the SD card with the maps & stuff, you now have 2 complete setups & the SD card setup becomes the default.

Thank you all for your ideas. Here is current status:
- As tendriver wrote, I have 2 navcores, one on internal, the other on SD card. When I run FastActivate, I got prompt which one to patch. However, I got both drives (I: and G:) listed twice. Although, it may be my W10 quirk - they are listed as drives and entries in my "Libraries". I'm not sure if it matters. Just in case I tried to patch both of them with output "patched already".
- I tried all suggestions above. Copied ttgo.bif and FA into map folder or from root of both drives. FA output is always ok (below)
- when I disconnect and try switching maps I end up with: Problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device: United_Kindgot_and_Republic_of_Ireland-100772

The best way is to start again. Take the SD Card out and Start the 730. Is that still working with the
internal map (Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB ).If so let me hear.

yes it does. SD card removed and device is happy with old map on internal storage.

Then on the SD Card what i mentioned in post 7

On the SD Card (No Navcore)

1) Biffile (ttgo.bif) copy it from internal to SD card.

SD Card in the 730 or it is already in the 730.
Give it a 15 sec reset with SD Card in it (little hole onderside 730).
Start the 730 and choose the UK map
Hopefully that works.
