GO730 map update resulted in BootLoader rollback?

Fri Mar 11, 2011 6:12 pm

So I performed a map update yesterday, upgrading to North_America_865_3245. Everything "seemed" to work fine however when I pulled my GPS out of the cradle it would not power on. Looked like it would going to the colourful street screen but would then shut down. Yet it would function fine in the cradle. OK, so it's a battery issue.

NOT. I restored my original backup and it works just fine out of the cradle. So what is wrong with my map upgrade process?

Here is some further info:

Original Config Upgraded Config
DeviceName= GO730 GO730
RamDiskVersion= 20090518 20040301
BootLoaderVersion= 55120 10012
LinuxVersion= 315187 1000
AppVersion#= 8351 8351
AppVersion= 9982 9982
CurrenMap= North_America_2GB North_America_865_3245
CurrentMapVersion= 825.2157 865.3245

Something has definitely gone amiss but what?

Update! So I just reinstalled the map update and presently everything is fine. Original Config and Updated Config data match with exception of the map version as would be expected. AND it works out of the cradle. So it must have been something I added in after the update. Speedcams?
