Go920 and Europe 910-4892

Postby oweme » Fri Aug 30, 2013 11:09 pm

Hello,

I tried to install Europe 910.4892 map into my TomTom Go920 that has been updated to the Navcore version 9.465.

When trying to use the map I get an error message : "Problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device:"

I would much appreciate the help to get the maps working

What should I do?

Use FastActivate's option 3 to also patch the NavCore and you should be up and running.

By the way, TT Home probably has got a NavCore 9.510 update waiting for you.
Take a look here.

Nope, the map is not patched.

You are living just a bit in the past. Current 920 navcore is 9.510, as Razorblatter mentioned. Current 920 Europe map is 915.5074.

Patch 9.510 with: [Please Register or Login to download file]

Patch 915.5074 with: FastActivate-31-08-2013.rar

Hello,

I updated my Go920 to navcore 9.510 and copied and replaced the 9.510 SE ttsystem.rar files in the TomTom device and then ran the FastActvate patch as instructed but I am still getting the same message with the older maps ( 910-4892)

It is going to take time for me to download the new maps piece by piece, but I will try again with the new maps and will let you know.

No .meta & .meta.dct files in the map folder = map not patched.

Hello again.

Really sorry about this. I honestly don't know what I am doing wrong.

I downloaded the new map and copied into the TomTom root folder. Then copied and replaced the model.text file and ttsystem files from the from 9.510 SE ttsystem.rar onto the same root folder and then followed the instructions that were given with the FastActivate. (1.update meta.text, 2.Patch Maps, 3. Patch Navcore, 4. Patch TomTom home.

I am currently running app version 9.510.1234791.1 on Go920 and OS version 842337.

When trying to switch map from the original Western and central Europe v 710.1576 to Europe_915_5074 I still get the error message "Problem with map: You cannot use this map on this device; Europe-817"

I seem to have done everything as instructed and I still can't get it to work

Update.

If I connect this device to TomTom home it says by that ma: "This map cannot be used on this device as it needs to be activated first".

What step am I missing?

1. I take it that you mean TomTom root. There is no root folder.
2. Copying the model.text file and ttsystem file into the root patched 9.510 for you. You didn't need to run 3. Patch Navcore.
3. A repeat from post 6: No .meta & .meta.dct files in the map folder = map not patched.

TT Home is just an emulation/simulation and should not be used for trouble shooting.

Hello,

I have the .meta file in my TomTom root but no meta.dct file. Where can I get that? I didn't see it included with any maps or activators.

I tried the following steps now:

1. Copied and replaced model.text file and ttsystem file into the TomTom root (from tsystem.rar)

2. Copied the .meta file into the Europe_915_5074 folder also.

3. Ran the steps with the FastActivate 1 and 2. (1.update meta.text, 2.Patch Maps)

Result: Got a new, modern menu but the map still can't be used, displaying the same error message?

Thank you in advance

1. I hope you mean you have the .meta file in your map folder, not TomTom root. A .meta.dct file is created in the map folder, when FastActivate successfully patches a map.
2. The .meta file is one of the map files and is already in the map folder.
3. Your map is still not patched. Put FastActivate & a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file in the map folder, then run FastActivate option 2 only.

1 and 2: The META file name is Europe-817 in the map folder.
3. I did as instructed copied FastActivate and a copy of devices ttgo.bif into the map folder and ran the FastActivate option 2 only. The meta.dct file was still not created and when checking the map still couldn't be used. (Displayed the same error message)

I don't even understand anymore why it doesn't work. Is there any info that could be provided to help to resolve the issue or should I restore my Go to and older version and try to update it and install the maps on to it again?

I am really sorry if I offended anybody. It is just that that I feel that not being able to get it to work shows how incompetent I am in this filed. I just wish I could understand what I am doing wrong faster and better.
