Hi DJC - thanks for the navcore update info. Worked a treat.

Newbie on site but not to probs with my go700. I'm surprised to see the quickfix option. I've gone to home, and avoided the error following your fix on earlier post with the .bak file, but I always thought that quickfix didn't work on the go700 - or should it now with navcore 8412?, be great if it did :)

My problem was, and still appears to be, poor gps signal. Best I get is a little bit of grey in the middle of the compass area of the sat search progress screen, not even a couple of grey bars which I did get a year or so back before I gave up for the first time.

History of the unit is couple of reboots during trips for no apparent reason, but back OK. Then put away in draw for a month or three, then no lock - after hours even days. So, something happened whilst in the draw - but I'm sure quickfix would help - so, should it now work with the V8 Navcore?

Thanks and sorry for the long first post.

@ xose,

Download this folder: [Please Register or Login to download file] . Unzip & copy the entire folder to the root of your device, overwriting any common files. It is the current QuickGPSfix update.

Thanks tendriver, did that, but looks like it isn't going to help. If anything, it's slowed down the boot process. I might have to update the official ver 5 european map I have also. Nothing had been changed on it since I got it in 2005 - soon after it was launched.

I've read just about everywhere that quickfix isn't supported by the go 300,500 and 700. I was thinking that as this was the official line from TomTom, software changes might change this.

I'm gonna to install this type of navcore as above. what should I do, which files am I to take?
already I've downloaded 9.026.go750_t.CAB-navcore-GO_LIVE.cab nad 9.026.go750.CAB-navcore-GO.cab - are they OK? and there is "t" in the file name, so, what does it stand for?
what are the last two files for: SE_Navcore.9.026.483454.Basicpack.rar and SE_ttsystem.9.026.483454.rar? which of them I need? all of them or those I just got?

The 8 different downloads are for different TomTom models, but they are all basically the same. It makes no difference which one you use. Either of the 2, that you have downloaded, are fine.
SE_Navcore.9.026.483454.Basicpack.rar is for 32MB RAM memory devices. Your 700 doesn't need it.
SE_ttsystem.9.026.483454.rar contains a pre-patched ttsystem file. You do need to download it & only use the ttsystem file in it.

Thank a lot for your quick answer :)
there is one more doubt. namely, I'd like to know, when I take the content from 9.026.go750_t.CAB-navcore-GO_LIVE.cab for my ttGo700, whether need I still to copy ttsystem file from that SE_ttsystem.9.026.483454.rar to my ttgo dev as well, or I will able to patch it myself by means of e.g. FastActivate that Im gonna to use it for installing my new map as well?
I am a very noobe here and I need some a good clear view so if you could be so kind and state orders/steps I should proceed with installing that new navcore from scratches, I will be deadly gratefull

where I can find post codes for UK for my map v855? I found for v850 so far - will that one work?
cheers

1. Yes, you need to use the SE ttsystem file. If you didn't, I would not have told you to download it. You can not patch a navcore that is not designed for your device.
2.Make a backup of your current setup using Windows Explorer.
Copy in the Navcore & only the SE ttsystem File from the rar, overwriting any common files.
Remove the old map folder & copy in the new.
Run FastActivate.

pgalco,
Please post if the 9.026.go750_t.CAB-navcore-GO_LIVE.cab works for you and you get your gps signal back.

I have tried with 8.412 and am having the same problem as with the official navcore 7.903 - a little bit of signal in the middle of the compass on the gps status screen and nothing else. I'm convinced my go700 has a software problem.... but no navcore specifically for the go700 on here to upgrade 7.903.

Many thanks,
Xose

so, it's well successfully done LoL
copied everything as instructed, exept system file to not change my boot ver, and working like a charm. there is only some bugs with this version of navcore 9.026.go750_t.CAB-navcore-GO_LIVE after rebooting. namely, Ive noticed poorer menu options and some icons missing (white squares instead are shown there in menu). therefore i returned to my previously backup of navcore ver 8.392; os:342099. I left only copied the new map v855.2884, lastest speedcams and zip codes. now tt dev is working better, maybe with that higher version (emulated as x:40) it looks better. GPS signal has been found without problems.

Glad everything's working well now. Mine looks to have died on the gps signal I'm afraid. It does see a sat.... number changes depending on the day (obviously as they are not geostationary), but the data is ignored... or not received! - so not even grey bars, let alone good enough for a lock on.

I'll leave it on all week now and if at the end of that there's nothing, SirfstarII chips aren't quick - plus they don't support quickfix :-(, then I'll give it up as a lost cause.

Thanks for getting back to me but I think now I realise that the navcore etc., has nothing to do with signal reception.

Hope your 700 goes on working for many years.

xose, that's a pitty your is not working, technical issue i think.
that one is my brothers which I have used so far. but, a week ago I bought my own new TTGO750 LIVE. I have wanted update a map of europe 2GB v835.2448 up to v855 through tthome menu option available for new buyers for aprox 31 days, so, Ive put this on a trial checking if I could do this, but system said that I had not enough free space on my device and it would update with countries of west europe only (some to be switched off). what can I do now? I bought microSD HC 4GB card with a hope it will be possible to update the map without limitations onto that new memory card, but, Im not sure. Can someone confirm that it is possible? Already I have downloaded via torrents map western nad central europe v855.2884 and this one works in brother's ttgo 700. Can I use this map in the original not patched ttsystem of my new ttgo750live dev without doing activation by means of FastActivate? how to do this?

thx a lot in advance
best regards all

PS.
Xose, have you tried upgrade the bootloader? nothing to loose :) hope that will help. But, first of all, ask here wich ver is best for yours dev

Totally agree , also maps in the maps section here and not hosted by a trusted member of this site are also not supported untill checked by a member of staff.
