Help installing new Australia maps One XXL

Postby fud » Tue Nov 27, 2012 11:26 am

Hello,
Apologies if this has been addressed before but I've been having issues going beyond 890_4278 maps and this has gone on for a little while now.

I have downloaded Australia_895_4436, Australia_895_4438, Australia_900.4600, Australia_900.4602, patched with now Fast Activate 17.11.2012 but still can't get them to work.

Example of error is:

Problem with map
You cannot use this map on this device: Australia-665

Reverting to 890_4278 is ok.

Also HOME which used to work doesn't now. It is ver 2.9.2.2837 and I have the same error message as above even with the working 890_4278 on XXL.

Details on XXL are:

DeviceID=
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XXL IQ Routes
DeviceSerialNumber=

ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9465
TTSystem 4509592 bytes, modified 18/10/2012 08:43 PM
PNDNavigator 8172416 bytes, modified 18/10/2012 09:19 PM
BootLoaderVersion=55279
RDS/TMC 'mctx.dat' size 212 bytes
CurrentMap=Australia_890_4278
CurrentMapVersion=890.4278
HelpFileVersion = 20090617

Looking for some pointers how to get newer maps working.

Thank you muchly.

1. Why the heck would you download and install so many maps?
2. Check the map chart for the one that is most suited from the 900 versions.
3. If a .dct file is present in the map folder that the map works.
4. I suggest you check the instructions for FA and our tutorials ;)
5. A working device need a map with DCT and a patched Navcore - one of it is not the case for you ;)
You might want to check the Navcore section for a pre-patched version or SE-ttsystem for your Navcore.

Thanks Downunder35m,
I meant to say I've downloaded at one time or other the later maps & none have worked.
The map chart indicates 4602 is a good version and it's the one I have in addition to the working 890_4278 but it does seem like FA is not activating the Australia-665.meta as there is no .dct extension.

I'll go over your points 4) & 5), thanks for the quick reply

If in doubt start FA from the map folder and place a meta.txt with the correct code into it as well.

Thanks Downunder35m,
Looks like my meta.txt did not include the code for the later maps, I've added that in & ran FA and it works now :D

How do I get TT Home to work as well ? It's still showing the same error as before with all the maps & I've run FA in the folder where TomTomHOME.exe lives.

Thanks again, appreciate your help
