Hi Guys,

a little help required if possible,

I have a TomTom one

On it I had maps for UK (Original official, came with device) and France (downloaded some years ago & activated with keygen)

I have successfully updated the maps to UK & ROI and France (both v855.2931)
& activated with FastActivate (version 1,8,6,6)
I have installed & activated some voices OK

I tried to update the Navcore to 'SE_Navcore.8.412.1236_32mb_devices.exe' (downloaded file, copied to SD card in TomTom & used FastActivate which IIRC said it patched it OK) but TomTom still reports the version as 7.903
Don't see this as a particular issue as it seems to work OK
(tried fastactivate on the navcore again & it said it was already patched)


Downloaded latest speed cameras Safety_Cam_UK_Premium.ov2 etc & activated OK with FastActivate

On UK map, all seems OK

On France map, all seems to work (in demo mode at least), but I get no sound (no voice, no speed camera alerts etc.)
I've tried various voices & turning the sound of & on again & adjusting the volume, but nothing

any ideas??
is this a navcore issue?
if so, how do I get the navcore updated ?

According to TomTom, from the serial No it's ONE 1st Edition

Internal & external memory?

That is your RAM memory. No help. To see the internal storage memory (if there is any), connect your unit to your computer. Open windows explorer. In the left window, right click on the TomTom drive, then click properties.

(I wasn't aware that it had any memory other that it's internal RAM & the SD card I've got plugged into it)

You have a 2GB internal memory. You can use either one. For the card, load your navcore, which is already patched, the maps & a copy of the ONE's ttgo.bif file. Run FastActivate to patch the maps.
There is 525MB of space on the internal being used. I suspect you will find 7.903 loaded on it.

I've now got the maps & NavCore 8.412 & the voices etc all installed & activated & working,...

except I've still got no sound (no voice, no speed camera alerts etc.) when on the France map ???

These maps are 2 Editions out of date. You may want to go here: All New Maps 865.XXXX , download the current editions before you tackle the sound issue

OK, updated maps to 865.3259,.. now it doesn't work at all just continually re-boots when I access the France map :-((

restored backup to previous & played around a bit & noticed a couple of things

1. with Navcore 8.412 the voice no-longer works on the UK map either (it did OK with 7.903)
2. although no instructions are sounded, if I tap the bottom LH corner of the screen it does play the current instruction
I've checked the voice preferences & the option to not play instructions is unchecked (i.e. is should play them)

Mmm .. more update

I now appears to be working :-))
I down issued the navcore to 8.410.1218 & it seemed to be the same.. but then I noticed that on the UK map when navigating live the voice seemed to be working OK

Tried it in demo mode & no voice.
Tried running the demo slower (x1) & the voice worked OK
Tried on the France map with slower demo (can't try that live just now) & voice seemed OK
It seems that ( at least as I've got it now) the with higher demo speeds the voice doesn't work.


At the moment it all seems to be working, so I think I'll leave it alone as I need to use it in anger in a couple of days
Later I might re-visit the later Navcore version & updated maps & see if I can get it working then
