NO, NO DO NOT go thru TT Home. As I said in post 6, If you run TT Home "Operate my device" and go to Status Summary, version, the bootloader version will always read 1.0012. Disconnect from you puter, reboot, then do the crosscheck.

No I checked under status summary before operating it, I had to use the operate thing to click the area you said to check because the tomtom wont boot.

Sun Aug 08, 2010 9:38 pm

ok so when you connect it to the PC, it does recognise it as a drive letter right?

so then, running the TT PNA Infotool should work as usual...

can you post here the error message your seeing?

take a screenshot for us plz

Have you done a "hard reset" (hold the power button for 30 sec.) to clear the boot issue?

Sun Aug 08, 2010 10:22 pm

yep tried that and tried clearing the settings restoring a backup so I am probably gonna just go ahead and call TT tomorrow

If the black config screen says you have 5.5128 then that is what you have,

DarkStarr wrote:[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom ROME
DeviceVersionHW=ROME
DeviceSerialNumber=
DeviceUniqueID=
RamDiskVersion=20040301
BootLoaderVersion=10012
LinuxVersion=1000
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8082
ApplicationVersion=9667

but if I hold the power button down till it comes on it goes to a info screen and it says Bootloader Version: S5.5128 clist#300688 RVCT

If you have also tried Clear Flash, then this is one of the rare times that I suggest formating the unit.
