When you say it was in the middle of backing up? was you copying files from your device or to it, should never interupt when copying files to it.

Give me some details about your device and i can then help, what navcore/map/bootloader ect.

well I was copying the files off it to make a backup since then it wont work at all. The navcore I believe is 8.010 or something like that, its whatever the default one is. The bootloader according to TomTom Home is 10012, I think this will answer it better because I'm all new to TomTom stuff.

CurrentMapVersion=850.2824

Well you have a v1 bootloader (1.0012) so i DO NOT reccomend upgrading your navcore and using the version navcore that tthome gives you,

Read here for some info on v1 Bootloaders , http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?943-Bootloader-1.0100-and-1.0200

WHOA!! Time out!! If you run TT Home "Operate my device" and go to Status Summary, version, the bootloader version will always read 1.0012. If at the same time, you open your device in windows explorer & open your ttgo.bif file, it will read bootloader 1.0012 also.

[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom GO 720
DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
DeviceSerialNumber=
DeviceUniqueID=
RamDiskVersion=20040301
BootLoaderVersion=10012
LinuxVersion=1000
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8351
ApplicationVersion=9982
UserLanguage=English US

Now click the blue "disconnect device" button in the lower right corner of TT Home, but don't unplug your unit. Reconnect and check your ttgo.bif file in windows explorer. You should now see the correct bootloader.

For a crosscheck: Tap in the lower right corner (blue area) of the nav screen. In the screen that opens, tap the little box on the right that reads Version 8.082 The bootload version is in the window that opens.
