You can start by giving details. I have no idea what "its picking stuff by its self" is referring to.

i think he has a scratch on the digitizer..

i guess the menus are auto selecting...
changing menu pages and switching automatically
making it impossible to type addresses...
or even to use the unit for navigation...

I changed the digitizer on my unit... not an easy job !!!
nearly chopped off the end of my finger with a hobby knife..
separating the digitizer from the LCD...
they are glued and soldered together

much easier to get a replacement LCD+digitizer pre assembled

but much more expensive that way !!!

The digitiser should not be glued onto the screen, I naver had one solder onto it either, only a little stripe of solder on some models for the ground.
Most of the time if there are problems with the touchscreen it ie either a screen protector or some dirt between the screen and the top cover.
Removing the screen protector and/or taking the front of the device to clean everything properly often fixes the problem.
In case your is glued on there is a way to seperate both without cutting yourself into pieces:
Just lift one corner with a sharp knife and than use braided fishing line (it is very thin and extremely strong) like a saw to cut through the glue.
If you have a person to help you, you can cut through the glue qithout damaging the screen or making scratches like you can get with a knife.

you are correct downunder in your post about dirt also can cause this behavior...

and cleaning would solve the issue in some cases...

but when there is a physical scratch into the digitizer surface...
then you need to replace the digitizer part...

btw... love the tip about fishing line....
i will get some and use that in the future !!!

on the TT 930T...

the lcd and the touch glass (digitizer) are glued together with double sided tape round the edge !!!!

the digitizer is soldered with 4 connections to the back of the LCD

so glued and soldered they are !!!

the digitizer :-

You have gotten way off topic, since we don't know what his problem actually is!!!!!!!!
