2. Your map did not get patched. Look in the Truck map folder. If properly patched, you will see a .meta.dct file & a .tmeta.dct file.

theres a .meta and a .tmeta file in there, which i guess end in .dct (mac doesnt show any file extensions on any file - useful)

tried repatching it (if thats possible), and get these messages at the end of the process:

which may have something to do with me using a windows emulator (its called crossover, and based on a program called wine)

sorted now! popped the sd card into a windows pc (thanks to my neighbour), ran the .exe file, got the meta data all ok, so now have a .meta, .meta.dct, .tmeta and a .tmeta.dct file in the map folder. popped it back in the tomtom and its all good! just got to download a voice as there currently isnt one, but no big deal at the moment as work for me is virtually non existent at the moment...
