Help: TomTom XXL IQ Routes Edition (NL Country only)

Postby TwoRoelio » Tue Jun 06, 2023 12:54 pm

Dear community,

Coming to a point of giving up on this old 2GB XXL from my dad.
I have tried almost everything from the tutorials but maybe someone can point me out.

We just want the country Netherlands to be a bit up to date so my old father can still use it. Benelux would be great to but every map that I try with FastActivate succeeds but when resetting the TT it say's no map. Even tried the "TT Universal NavCore Installer" that works great tho!

Some info on this device:

[Please Register or Login to download file]

ttgo.bif:
DeviceName=TomTom XXL Classic Series
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XXL Classic
DeviceSerialNumber=GQxxxxxxxxxx
BootLoaderVersion=55282
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9500
ApplicationVersion=1161701.2
CurrentMap=
CurrentMapVersion=0.0

Map(s):
h:\Netherlands_1095_11552\

Storage:
Size 953482MB, Free 629516MB

Thanks for any help it would be appreciated.

Greetings,
Roelio

7 simple steps to update your device with the latest map
To update your device with the latest map, follow these simple steps:

1) VERY IMPORTANT: Connect your device to your computer via USB. Using Windows Explorer, open your TomTom drive and backup the complete contents of your TomTom.

2) Check your navcore version. You can do this either on the device menu under Version Info, or you can check the navcore version in TomTom Home when the device is
connected to your computer, or by opening the ttgo.bif file with notepad.
Try to find Navcore 9.510, which work on most devices, it's always possible to install another

3) Check which map is compatible with your navcore using the latest compatibility, found on most forums

4) Get the map which fits you best and which also fits on your device
Delete the old map folder

5) Extract the map using WinRaR or similar.
Copy across the new map folder into the root of the device.
Make sure when you open the map folder it only contains the map files, not another folder within a folder.

6) Download the latest version of FastActivate from the FastActivate thread:
Extract the file and copy across FastActivate.exe to the TomTom drive (the root of the device).

7) Run FastActivate.exe from the TomTom drive, clicking on the first 3 options in order, waiting for each to complete:
Update meta, patch maps, patch navcore.

Last remark, if the navcore is still the original, patch the navcore too.

Als het moeilijk wordt met zoeken, wat je nodig hebt heb ik hier en stuur mij dan een pm.

When you extracted the new maps, did you extract them into their own folder?
Also, did you patch the navcore with FastActivate option 3?

Yeah I have kept the original folder name "Netherlands_1110_11950".

I'll try the navcore you suggested I'll let you know. Thx for your help!

Update: It took me some time to understand the Compatible Chart, 11950 isn't even supported.... :046:

Version 9.5xx supports only the light green ones. So Only Benelux_1110_11859 is supported and small enough in size. ETA 1 hour this is so much fun!

Thx again.

Make sure it's fully charged, then try outside for a good signal. Once that's working then do a FULL Windows backup!

Plan b) try a reset from off by using a paperclip in the reset hole in the bottom or holding the power button until you hear the tomtoms & black dos-type screen then release & cross your fingers

I went down to 9.510 on advice from pe1agp and placed the original ttgo.bif back. Did a GPS fix from FastActivate and map update and after 10 minutes it found satellites :030:

Thanks for all the help this case was quickly solved thanks to you guys! Much respect and wish you the best.
