Help with Europe Truck 880_3845

Postby smokinbarrels » Fri Dec 30, 2011 7:10 pm

Hi Folks,
I've downloaded all 12 truck maps from (europe_truck 880_3845), fast activate 1.8.8.0, navcore 8.398.1917 work inc and the pre patched SE tt system. All files have been unziped using winrar. I've copied them to my SD card inserted it into my tt go 720 and clicked on fast active. A box comes up with 4 x parts to click on. I do this and files seem to be downloaded and oaky (press any key to continue).
When i go on my tt go 720 and click on europe truck map i get a red screen saying i cant use this map with my device.
Any idea where i'm going wrong?

Many thanks SB

Yep. The truck map is not patched. To patch it, you must have a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file on the card before you run FastActivate.

Hi,
Many thanks its all sorted and working now.

I was led to believe that truck maps would automatically route you round hazards such as weight restrictions, tight turns and low bridges? After downloading this map it seems no different to Western Europe? After doing a quick route check from my house it takes me down the most narrow street in town that is restricted to HGV’s?

Hi,
If i start my tomtom in the normal way, change preferences, manage maps, switch map,Europe Truck it looks exactly the same as western Europe maps with no way of selecting height, width, weight etc etc.

Could there have been a fault with the download?

Have you looked in the truck map folder for a .tmeta file & a .tmeta.dct file?

OK A truck map comes with a .meta file & a .tmeta file as part of the download. FastActivate creates a .meta.dct file & a tmeta.dct file. Which of the 4 files are in your truck map?

Hi, it showed an error saying <tt system missing>. i moved it over to my sd card and did a fast active again. All seemed to go okay, restart asked me about tomtom truck map settings and that was it. It went to the black tomtom screen and crashed. now it wont start at all, the only way i can get it to connect to my computer is through the reset button on the base and to connect straight away.
I'm doing a restore as we speak.

Do you have any idea how hard it is on us, when members start tinkering on their own?

Sorry.
Back up and running now. For some reason my tomtom will work normally if i unplug it but if i try to operate it through my computer in 'operate my go' it comes up with a red screen and you cannot use this map on this device: Western Europe.

That is part of the basic knowledge one should read about before the start ;)
1. noone really needs the simulation in Home
2. there is no simulation for the Truck Navcore
3. if you have a NC that has the simulation in Home, Home of course must be patched

It really helps both sides here if the user follows the instructions provided,
the user does not do any tweaking while we help him,
and if the user took some time to read the tutorials or related postings in the forum.
We are here to help, but we need helping users too ;)

And why do you need two threads for one problem?

Sorry for the problems i've caused. Its mt 3rd day of tomtom hell!
I've taken everything of my SD card and rebooted Europe Truck 880_3845 and 8.398 CAB Navcore-Go_work.rev 1. and 8.398 tt system & PND Navigator back on to it.

Lets start again!
Once again i'm sorry if i've caused any trouble. SB

It is just confusing if there are two active threads for the same problem, so I suggest we stick to this one to finnish.
Just to make sure you have the basics to get going:
The Navcore needs to be patched or you have to use one of the pre patched SE versions.
The map needs to be activated, check for the .dct file in the map folder.
If you start from scratch it is best to do a hard reset and the Clear Flash after installing the Navcore.
Make sure not to have any spaces or special characters in the folder name for the map.

Thanks for the reply,
Okay this is how things are at the moment:
Started with a blank SD Card,
Did a hard reset on device,
installed Navcore pre patched SE version,
Run clear flash,
installed maps
connected to the computer,
run Fast active,
Clicked on updtae Meta.txt (downloading meta text....please wait) then nothing.
Clicked on Maps/voices/speedcams.....click on f drive tomtom go sd card.....installs okay....press any key to continue
clicked on ttsystem/PND Navigator........ click on f drive tomtom go sd card<file missing ttsystem or PNDNavigator press any key to continue.

Thats as far as i have got at the moment. Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards SB
