Thanks.

If you did a clean navcore installation, delete it, copy your backup back in to your unit. Then copy the truck navcore files over it, overwriting any common files. If your backup had working voices, they should work now.

Go into the folder "skins" and save a copy of the file "reskin" to your PC.
If worse comes to worse the file is in the archive of the Navcore too.
In case after changing the emulation your device won't boot properly you can replace the "reskin" file with this copy to get back to a working system.

Please try to use the skin chooser to set the emulation to 35, than try again with the voices.
If no luck try 25, this would be to emulate a GO series TT.
Currently your device uses the original emulation for a XL and due to limitations of the sound engine it is possible that your device ID is not supported for sound.
If all emulations fail you can try to overwrite all files on your device with the ones from the archive, but use the 25 as emulation :

Just seen your previous post #9 where you said you have 2Gb internal memory only (& no SD slot?)
In THAT case the last working under 2Gb version was a cut down truck map v845 & a chopped 8.395 navcore which worked OK on older ONE's & ONE XL's with 2Gb internal memory & no SD card slot although I'm not sure it it would work on your device.
I could up it for you to try or for d/u to have a play with.

Chopped 8.45_TRUCK is 1.94 GB there is no room for navcore here, thats why i use 8.15 it is old map but this is the only way devices with limited memory and no sd slot to have truck guidence, by the way my device have NC 8.398 suggested by downdrer35 and this is the only truck navcore wich starting on this devices, but still have no sound and voices...

As I say, I have got the Truck v845 & 8.395 shrunk to fit a 2Gb memory (actually down to 1.89Gb) so it certainly can and has been done and I've sold many 2Gb cards fully working to ONE & ONE XL owners in the past.
Unfortunately my list of all the chopped off bits from the map & that navcore were posted on another (now defunct) TT forum.

Thread moved into general discussionwhere it should be anyway.
We have two problems now:
The Navcore won't run on your XL without kernel modifications and like other Navcores the sound model ID is blocked and causes the device to be silent when an incompatible Navcore is used.
Imho your best option is to buy a second hand 720 or 730 (maybe even 520/530) and use this for truck navigation.
You are far too limited with the hardware and you can trust me if I say : if you really need truck you won't regret getting a different TT model!

You could send Downunder a PM to re-upload but I recommend looking at the link I posted before as there are lots of links to different Truck navcores available...if you look
