How to avoid Navcore upgrade via TomTom Home - please help

Mon Jan 28, 2013 1:55 pm

I followed these instructions:

in case to prevent TT Home from downloading & installing Navcore 9.700
Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad.
Replace lines 9 & 10 with these:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9700
ApplicationVersion=1133776.1
Save this change by clicking "File" in the upper left corner of windows explorer, then "Save as" ttgo.bak. At this point, there is only a ttgo.bak file in the root, no ttgo.bif.
Disconnect & reboot. Now you will have a ttgo.bak, a ttgo.bif & a ttgo.ori file in the root & no TT Home upgrade to Navcore 9.400.

Issues:
NotePad saved file as ttgo.bak.txt so I changed that in total commander to ttgo.bak and deleted ttgo.bif
After restart I see these files:
ttgo.bak
ttgo.bif it has old ApplicationVersionVersionNumber and ApplicationVersion again

There is no file ttgo.ori

TTHome want to install navcore 9.700

What I am doing wrong?
Thanks.

Why do you not want to install 9.700?

I lost voice commands after update to 9.700

Fair reason. We haven't found a true SE 9.700 version yet. Downunder has a DSA version. PM me a copy of your 8.398 ttgo.bif file.

Do you have anything on a SD card, or is everything on the internal?

Mon Jan 28, 2013 7:35 pm

Nothing else on the card besides the map folder? No ttgo files, etc?

Mon Jan 28, 2013 7:43 pm

Just moved navcore to SD, deleted ttgo.bif
Same issue after restart.

Delete all ttgo files except ttgo.bak. Change these ttgo.bak file values:

ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9700
ApplicationVersion=1133776.1

to

ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9465
ApplicationVersion=1074274.1

Disconnect & reboot.
