How to get map working on a VDO Dayton PN3000

Postby Maestro84 » Fri Dec 16, 2011 10:01 am

Hi,

I've got a VDO Dayton PN3000 and followed the steps from the "How to install Tomtom 7 on dedicated PNA devices with Windows CE core 5" thread to install tomtom navcore 7.45
Everything goes well untill i get to the map activation part. Whatever i do i get the french message that the map isn't activated.

Already tried the activator as well as the fastactivator i found in some other topic. can anyone tell me wich map i need to download, and wich steps i must follow to get a map working ?

Thanks in advance!

Explain what you did to activate the map, including how the device connects to your pc...

This is the content of my sd card:
3581
After i ran the tomtomnavigator.exe file on the device, i got the french message, pulled the sd card and ran the activator on the pc.
Result:

It says press a button to continue, and when i do the program closes.

then i insert the sd in the device, but still the same..

Is there a (map name).meta.dct file in the map folder, and are you running Windows 7 64 bit?

Some Win 7 64 bit users have trouble activating maps for tomtom navigator, are you able to use a different machine?

Also confirm that you are using a card reader and not connecting directly to the device with a usb cable.

If you can't use another machine, open ttnavigator.bif with notepad and copy everything into a private message to me and I'll generate the file for you when I get home later...

Download removed!

This is for Benelux V880.3868 (From the image above), and the device the TTNavigator.bif relates to only!

Copy to map folder and restart Tomtom.

No problem :) For future reference any patching for new maps/speedcams/voices will need to be done on a different machine to yours, I normally use an Win XP netbook.

It doesn't seem to affect every Win 7 64 Bit machine, so it may be a 3rd party process or certain malware/virus protection/firewall interfering with the patcher.
