How to turn off TTS?

Fri May 13, 2011 7:28 am

Hi!
TomTom XL (v9). Just installed SE navcore 9.103.539753.2.
x30 emulation mode.
No matter what I'm trying to do with swichables in the name of saving RAM, I can't disabe TTS. :chok_mini: File "config.txt" in "txt" folder always say that TTS ir on.
Is it possible in a "casual" way at all? What switchables where should be used?
Please point me to right directions.

Thanks!

3 options
1. Main Menu, Change preferences, Turn off Voice guidance.
2. Main Menu, Change preferences, Turn off sound.
3. Remove the TTS folder from your unit.

tendriver,
Thousand thank's for your quick answer
Actually, I'm using only a recorded voice. So, the muting of TT by turning off the sound should not be performed. As I understand, TTS menu options are available only when disabling a recorded voice.
So my only option was to delete the TTS folder what I already did. But the "config.txt" still say that TTS is still on. I have no problem with displaying false state of TTS cause it's far away from vital TT functioning for me. I'm just curious about the RAM consumption in this situation. Does it make any difference in theory?

Thanks!

1. Option 2 does not apply, now that you have included this recorded voice info.
2. Option 1 does not apply, now that you have included this recorded voice info.
3. Option 3 does not apply, now that you have included this recorded voice info. There would not have been a voice in the TTS folder, if you had not put 1 in it.
4. Items listed in the config.txt are commands to your unit, not the status of the features. Open it with notepad & change it to TTSoff, if you so desire.

By the way, TTSoff changes to TTS on every time I boot up.
