Postby Gandolfo » Fri Jun 19, 2020 9:08 am

Hi.
Can anyone please give me step by step instructions on how to update my 1XL.
I have saved a backup to my hard drive & wiped the SD card.

Thanks.

Before you start read carefully

How to read the chart.
http://www.navitotal.com/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=19485

You can give the next procedure a try.

*) Recommended Navcore 9.541 device

[Please Register or Login to download file]

--
1) Make a backup of your Device and delete the content.
--
2) Unpack the* navcore (winrar ) and place folders and files on your Device.
--
3) Reset The Device (minimal 15 sec) and start it till the announcement "No map found"
--
4) Copie the selected map to your Device in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the individual files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.
(plain map no speedcams,poi,etc)
--
5) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your device
http://www.navitotal.com/viewtopic.php?f=127&t=19452

Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 1
Select 2
Done.

6) Give a 15 sec reset and start the device if everything works fine
just then you can ad speedcams etc to the map

We like to hear the result Good or Bad.
And keep away from TomTom Home.
----
Has the XL a SD card
Wich bootloader you have.
Checking bootloader (the only reliable method)
Enter a device reset 15 sec.
Then turn on the device and hold the start button until you
get info screen. Which bootloader is there.

Hi h.
Tried that, loaded navcore to device but when i tried to copy map to device i got an error message:
not enough room on device need an additional 236MB
space free 156MB
total size 240MB.

So am i correct in assuming i need a bigger SD card for my device.

Hi H.
Been working away but back now.
I have followed your instructions up to uploading Fastactivate.exe, but when i try to run it as administrator from my laptop, it throws an error "unable to run this file as it contains a virus" The file then disappears so i'm stuck, ive tried it at least 8 times same thing happening.

Disconnect the virus scanner. After activation, the map connect it again.

Yeah a bit worried about Fastactivate.exe being reported as Trojan:Win32/Occamy.C1E

Don't worry about that...it's a false positive

In computing, the expression “false positive” refer to antivirus programs: False positives often happen when an antivirus program or any other security system identifies, by mistake, as illegitimate a legitimate code, program, application, web address, file etc.

Ok, if you extracted the workaround to the root of the device and you can see mymeta.txt in there....then there might be a problem with the map itself as it should've activated.

I've just done this for another member so follow my instructions on the following link and you'll get a new and better map which I know is ok:
