How to use my Tomtom XXl 540's map with XXL 550? (USA)

I have Tomtom XXL 540 with lifetime map update. My friend bought XXL 550 which does not not include such services. When i try to install XXL 540's map to XXL 550, it warns me that "because of content restriction you can not use the map on this device". So does anyone have any idea how can i install it on XXL 550? Thanks in advance.

Maps are device specific & are coded for the particular unit that they are loaded on. To use a map from one device on a different device, both the map & receiving device navcore must be modified. These modifications can be done with FastActivate Premium. Go here: FastActivate ENG 29.05.2011 {1.8.7.0} Read the instructions carefully.

Make a backup copy of the 550 contents. Remove the 550 map folder. Copy in your 540 map folder & delete it's .meta.dct file. Run FastActivate to modify the map & navcore. When done, disconnect the 550 & reboot it.

There is no .meta.dct file in 540 map. It has Activation and USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P both rar file format , and USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P.toc , USA_Canada_and_Mexico-1 and USA_Canada_and_Mexico in GIF file format. Any help on this? Thanks.

Every activated map has a .meta.dct file. My reference is to the activated USA, C & M map folder on your device, not the one on your computer in Documents, TomTom, Home, Downloads, complete, maps. To use that map, unzip the USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P.rar & you should see the map folder.

I followed the steps but now at the end it says "no maps found".

I'm pretty sure TT does not include the activation codes in a rar file located in the map folder.
If you use FastActivate correctly you get all working.
Klick the buttons, starting from the left.

I tried it couple of times but still no success. Am i missing something? Below, there is a link of screen shots of 550's directory if that can help you figure out whats the problem. Thanks.

There are 2 files missing from the USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P map folder in your 550 screenshot. That tells me you are still using the map in your computer, not the map on your 540. There MUST be a USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P-348.meta file in the map folder, before you run FastActivate. After you modify the map, you will have a USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P-348.meta & a USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P-348.meta.dct.
Look in the map folder on your 540. Copy the USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P-348.meta file & paste it into the 550 map folder. Rerun FastActivate.
