No idea what navcore or map version to download

Hi,

Having to use the work satnav as I can't afford a unit of my own and their hasn't been updated since I think they bought it.

It's old, TomTom One unit.

29MB RAM
GPS v1.21, Boot 4.81
Map: 'United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland' v660.1199

Just spent about 4 hours hunting through Google, downloaded various torrents and nothing seems to be working.

All I want is to update the map to as latest UK map as possible and I've only just found this site.

I don't think having Dyspraxia helps as it makes understanding instructions a little more difficult than most.

ps. Came with a 256MB SD card and I've just bought a 2GB SD card which it has no problem reading.

Go here: TomTom Current Configuration {29.09.2011} Read the instructions. Run the program & post the results here.

You will have to completely rebuild the software in the unit. None of it is compatible with today's versions. Do you wish to continue?

Is it a complex task?

(I just downloaded a map pack, navcore and tried myself and the machine went into a continuous boot cycle)

I made a copy of the original SD card, extracted above and copied over the top. Couldn't find any instructions anywhere so "guessed it"

I copied and pasted everything here and it hasn't appeared like before :/

To make sure that everything got patched, go here: AutoActivate & FastActivate 1.8.8.5 Read the instructions carefully. Download the FastActivte Premium edition. Run the program & click the first 3 buttons 1 at a time, from left to right.

1st: meta downloaded ok

2nd: United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-512.meta -> .dct OK!

Did you use the ttsystem file from the SE_ttsystem.8.562.438269.rar download?

First, I noticed some of the ttsystem files were overwritten so I didn't use them then I thought they were probably there for a reason and used them the second time.

Both gave a repeating boot cycle.
