But about the clock issue, There is no way to set the time from within Tomtom Navigator, on some devices it is just wrong and there is nothing you can do about it, on other devices, sometimes running another GPS app first and allowing it to set the time then running Tomtom works.

I have set the gps to 'other NMEA GPS receiver', set the baud rate to 9600 (and tried all of the others) and set it to COM7 which is highlighted (the only other two options are COM5 and serial cable, and if I choose either of those, the unit warns of 'no gps device'. I have checked these settings on a few Italian and German forums and others are using them OK. All I have is the yellow and black circle, and the warning 'poor gps reception - are you inside a building?'

[gps]
comport = 7
receiver = 3
baudrate = 9600
receiver_status = 1

Did you get a satellite lock yet? I couldn't find anyone else with this problem, On the gps status screen do you see any activity? (grey or blue bars)
