Postby lonewolf1234 » Fri Jun 14, 2013 12:52 pm

Can someone tell me which combination is the latest and works best with the Go 520. This is my first time doing it so please it

I haven't updated anything at all from TomTom Home in case it blocks anything. I went into menu on the satnav and checked my version it says:

App 8.351, OS: 315187
64MB Ram
GPS 1.20
Boot: 5.5120
Map UK and Ireland 710.1561

If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Thanks for the reply but the thread doesn't seem relevant to me? It was about a 720 screen not working properly, mine is a 520 and works but its just that the maps etc are old and I'm asking on how to update.

Current Official navcore for your 520 is 9.510. Let TT Home install it for you. You may have to run TT Home "Operate my GO" several times before you get to 9.510. Patch it with 9.510 SE ttsystem.rar

Current map is United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_910_4892 Download & unzip it. Remove the 710 map folder. Copy in the 910 map folder. Patch it with FastActivate 09.06.2013

Disconnect & reboot. DONE!

I doubt that you read the thread because you would have seen that tendriver posted how to update the go 720 to make it current.

Sometimes I really wonder why noone bothers to read before making a request.
I also wonder why so many users think nothing we write in the forum can be used so they have ask the things again that have been answered hundreds of times.
:(
And yes, I know the standard answer: Sorry, I'm new and can't understand all of that.
But a thread like this confirms that no everyone even bothers to get familiar with the most basics things in our forum.

People are people I guess. It's much easier for them to have someone spoonfeed them the answer rather than look around to see if we answered it before. You can't really blame them too much because their question[s] are in real time.
