So I just download "ALL in 1 Automatic Installer", under "Navcore 9.205.547817 for Rider3", (from post #1), run the .exe and tell it where the TT drive is? Having done a FULL Windows Explorer backup first.

This navcore is Very RAM memory friendly. 5-6 MB free is normal with 64Mbs. With 9.051, free RAM is up around 17MB."

I did try this nc (9.051) way back (suggestion from djc) but preferred the menu structure of 9.026.
Tested now without Outsourced - 4.1 MB free RAM. Put Outsourced back - 14 MB free RAM.
Submitting a response to djc's post #9.

I am not suggesting that you use 9.051. I am only advising you that 9.XXX navcores, starting with 9.051, are very RAM memory friendly.

Correct. Automatic Installer is geared for noobies, that have trouble with the conventional way. It loads the Outsourced folder & Switchfiles.zip, which my 64MB RAM unit doesn't need, so I don't use it. I currently have 17.1 free RAM with 9.205.

Just checking... Automatic Installer removes/overwrites previous nc files? So no need to delete anything?

Yes it does overwrite should ask you to confirm, but if you got lack of memory problems , you might be better off deliting all the contents of the TT first but after you back them up

With a 20GB hd, I don't think he will have a memory problem.

I meant lack of free RAM problems as he said above without Outscorced folder he has very low memory so this could be conflicting files

I confirm that lack of free RAM WAS creating problems, hence use of Outsourced folder.
Won't be able to check out 9.205 before the weekend, but will report back then.

A lack of free RAM isn't creating problems, instead, a problem is causing a lack of free RAM. The low free RAM on your 910, with navcore 9.051 & above, is not normal.

Hamish wrote:userbb, if you try Navcore 9.205.547817 will you post the results back here? I use 9.026 + outsourced on my 910 which is acceptable, but I'm always looking for an improvement.

Just thought id add my two penny worth,
I have used both of these Navs and found the 9.205 to be slightly smoother and quicker and has worked faultlessy, but the 9.026 was ok but I havent gone back to it.

I'm with djc; IMHO 9.026 (current nc) is not "9.051 & above".

Thanks for the info. I plan to try this on Sunday.

1.You are with djc about what?
2. YHO is correct, but based on your post 15, I did try this nc (9.051) way back (suggestion from djc) but preferred the menu structure of 9.026.

IMHO my statement: The low free RAM on your 910, with navcore 9.051 & above, is not normal. is correct & valid.

I should have explicitly said that "Tested now without Outsourced - 4.1 MB free RAM. Put Outsourced back - 14 MB free RAM." referred/refers to 9.026. I have no idea what the free RAM was with 9.051 - didn't bother to look as I immediately (within the hour) went back to 9.026, last May at the latest. So "IMHO my statement: The low free RAM on your 910, with navcore 9.051 & above, is not normal. is correct & valid." is not relevant to a 910 with navcore 9.026.
However, "IMHO my statement: The low free RAM on A 910, with navcore 9.051 & above, is not normal. is correct & valid." I've no problem with.

Installed 9.205 using "ALL In 1 Automatic Installer" with default x40 mode. Ten+ MB free RAM. Looks fine in house, will 'road-test' tomorrow.

Thanks to djc for help/suggetions.
