A little help putting tomtom on a binatone b350

Postby cheesehead » Tue Nov 16, 2010 11:03 am

Hi all, great website.

Ive been struggling all night to get tomtom on my binatone satnav.

It runs Windows CE 5 core.

Ive had total comander working
Ive installed TomTom for wince4.2 from here
Ive installed TomTom for wince 5 from here

Current situation.. TomTom loads straight into the "no map" screen, both versions did this, ce4.2 version in english and ce 5 version in french.

I followed the posted steps. Dloaded uk map, put map &"MobileNavigator" folder onto sd card with autoactivate, ran the activate which seemed successful.

Still no joy, Ive tried copying MobileNavigator folder back to resident flash which makes no difference. Ive tried putting a copy of the generated .bif file pretty much everywhere.

Very new to this, could well be missing an obvious step but I have to goto work now. I would really appreciate a few words of wisdom
Thank You

Im wondering if the silence means Im doing something stupid. Heres what im doing now

Cleared the resident flash and put CE commander in the MobileNavigator folder. Im copying the original software back into a new folder so I can use it when needed. Ill tonight reformat the sd card and try tomtom & activating a map.

is this gonna work you think?

Confirm that you have seen the Wince tuts here Tutorials
It's not advised to format a card, unless there is a known problem with it.

Was using the wrong map sorry to waste readers time lol! Thanks for reply, I had read them but ignored the compatibilitys.

It is recognising the gps but no signal yet (atlas3!) Fingers crossed.

Once again, took a while to find, but what a great forum.

You are Welcome. The TT Team sez, "Thanx for the compliment". I'll leave this thread open until you get a signal lock.

Absolutely fantastic. My biggest gripe with the binatone software (when it worked) was the time taken to calculate and re-calculate. I cant catch it out running tt7 its so quick.

It wont run over Total commander (gives a memory low error) but running it straight from the original front end it works perfectly.

Thaks again

Basically all you need to do on this device is replace the "MobileNavigator" folder and "MobileNavigator.exe" with another app, Read the other thread carefully, everything you need is in there.
