Lost my Text to speech on TT One XL-S

Sat Oct 02, 2010 7:12 am

I just updated my One XL-S (4S00.008) (US) that came with text to speech, but the navcore i used must not be TTS compliant because I cannot load or use computer voices. My question is: Whats the best navcore for my device that includes the TTS feature?

Thanks All!

Thanks for the reply. I've tried several, but SE_X_ttsystem.9.103.539753 is the latest. Yes, I do have an original backup.

Load your original backup & confirm that TTS is functioning. If so, download this navcore: [Please Register or Login to download file] + SE_X_ttsystem.9.103.539753

Leave the backup loaded & load the navcore + the ttsystem file & PNDNavigator file only, from the SE download to your One, overwriting any common files.

I will try that. Thank you! Could you also recommend a navcore and newest compatible map for my TomTom One? I beleive it's a version 3 (4EEE.001.00) Thanks for any advise..

I did as you recommended Tendriver. While the unit looks to be fine with a computer voice installed and selected, the voice will not "test" and the unit indeed will make no sound at all. (volume is up and speech is turned on) Appreciate any advise.

Tendriver; I see i didn't follow your instructions exactly. You said to to copy over the ttsystem ONLY. When I do that i get an incompatible map message. So I then patch the ttsystem and I go back to the no sound scenario i mentioned before... Thanks for any help...

1. We will take care of this after item 3 is cleared up.

2. We will take care of this after item 3 is cleared up.

3. The SE ttsystem file is prepatched. An incompatible map or invalid navcore message? What map is loaded??

Why 855.2981? It is a basic no features map.

Ah, I didn't know that.... Just went with the newest. How are they different? What should I use? Thanks!

Look at the post 1 chart in the 855 map sticky thread. Notice the difference between 855.2884 & the version you downloaded. BTW, the first 3 digits in a map number is the issue #. The last 4 digits is the version of that issue. ALL maps of an issue are released at the same time. Scroll down the 855 thread & look at the versions of the North America & the US maps. Decide if you need US, Canada, Mexico or some combo of them Choose a 855.2884 map that fits your needs.

I see... Had to google those terms. I'm downloading 855.2884 now. Can you recommend a navcore?

Oops, the 855.2884 Us and mexico (not marked 2gb) is also a two gig. So no us map in the .2884 series.... All the .2934 series seem to be too big as well...

North America 2GB 855.2884
United States 2GB 855.2884
USA and Mexico 2GB 855.2884

Does not your unit have a SD card slot?
