map doesn't load

hello,i have a problem loading my 860.3100 europe map (not enough mem)
using samsung omnia 2 tt 7.9179186 34.5 mb ram free
europe 850.2801 works fine
what is going wrong??

Europe 850.2801 = 1.60GB.
Europe 860.3100 = 2.44GB.

You need storage memory larger than 2GB to load Europe 860.3100.

I have Omnia II and TT7.917 works fine from a 16GB Micro SD card.

that is not the problem,
when i start TT it crashes with the message not enough mem
and no starting problems with the 850 map

Do you have auto rotation enabled?

no, that is not enabled

The memory management on the Omnia 2 is rubbish.

Are you running a stock rom? I take it you've patched your map correctly and removed as many voices and pois as possible, Because too many voices and pois causes problems on the pda version of ttn7
Did you copy mapsettings.cfg from the old map? If you did then delete it as that also causes errors.

Do you need the whole of Europe's maps?

As a last resort drop back to 7.450 as it seems to be more stable.

Not enough memory errors on WinCE/Mob are caused by the way dlls are loaded rather than running out of physical memory.

the map is activated correctly stored on a 16GB microsd ram card,
only one voice is present noting else,
if i start tt now i get a black screen

Later i'll upload the cab files i use, Custom roms sometimes cause problems as system files are removed to make space.

SPB Mobile shell is a memory hog, What's your free ram after a reboot?

Mine's around 65MB free on a standard rom, The Samsung task manager starts closing apps around 50MB unless you've installed the hack.

i give up tried tt 7.4 and the other tt both work with my other maps ( after new activation ) but not with the new 860 map ( fake meta )
i'll stay with the 850 maps

Disable SPB mobile shell and try again.

Settings -> Display and light -> Items on today
Untick everything then tap done
Soft reset

You will have a blank today screen but loads of programme memory
If Tomtom now works SPB mobile shell was the problem, There are alternatives to it.
