(map Installation)

Mon Jul 04, 2011 7:26 am

After much sh***ing myself that I'd broken my tt. Can someone please explain in very basic newbie detail how to install a new map ie. France onto my "tt one classic 3rd ed." updated to ver 8.016.

I checked the tables - TTOne with navcore 8.01x, I downloaded the France_870_3417 with automatic installer & patcher. Installed it and was promptly told this map will not work on this device!

All help gratefully received

A patched map requires a patched navcore. Go here: FastActivate ENG 29.05.2011 {1.8.7.0} Read the instructions & download the Premium version to path your navcore.

Okay thank-you very much for your help so far, but just one more thing. I know I'm probably dumb but I'm having difficulty understanding all the notes on that link. Why are there 3 different methods? which one should I use? Why might I want to patch tthome? and what does it do if i do patch tthome?

Use Method 1.
Patch TT Home, only if you use the "Operate my device" feature.

Okay, One very last question:

I have backed up my tt memory.. If everything goes wrong, Is it as easy as simply transferring the back-up back onto my tt to make it all back to how it was again?

Yep. Remove all of the "new stuff", then copy your backup to the memory.
