Map not detected tomtom one

Postby doraimom » Mon Sep 24, 2012 4:02 am

Hi.
The same map I used in my tomtom XL 350 is not working in my tomtom one.
I followed the same procedure in both:
1) I copied the map folder to the gps' unit.
2) I created a file called Meta.txt with the following text inside:"; Brazil v895.4438
63 9E D8 78 7C B5 B2 81 92 3E 19 1A 7F FF A5 E5 Brazil-609.meta", without the "" of course.
3) I copied the FastActive 1.8.9.0 to the gps' unit and ran it. After running the Maps option it said: "Brazil-609.meta => .dct ok! bif file ..........E:\TTGO.BIF Keygen type ..... 8 Device Name ....... tomtom one, Application 8017 ........ Device ID"

So, everything seems fine to me. Clicking on the option ttsystem I get: "Patching navcore ... Your Navcore have already been patched."

But After I unplug the GPS from my computer it says NO MAP FOUND!!

What am I doing wrong? Not even the automatic map+patching is working. I have tried 'Brazil 890.4268_Installer, and Brazil 895.4438_Installer. Both are not being detected after the installation.

I thank any tip in advance. Thank you for your help and time.

IS there a navcore 9.xxx for this tomtom one? I tried to update my tomtom using tomtom home software but it doesn't have any update left. How can I update it?

I'm here playing with my tomtom and decided to try a few things before your repply. I removed everything from my device (but the map files) and replaced everything with the files of the folder SE_9.430 that I got here: http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9484-Navcore-Version-9.430
When I ran fastactive it complained about two files that were missing. Since I didn't have anything to put there I just unplugged the device. The map worked, the menus all of them changed and seems to be working but I get no GPS signal. When I plugged my GPS back in my PC and ran fastactive again it seems like those two missing files appeared from nowhere! because it didn't complain about missing files anymore.

Any tip?

Back up the contents of your tomtom to your pc and then download: [Please Register or Login to download file] and copy the contents of the folder to your tomtom along with your map folder (you will also need your bif file as well).
Won't guarantee that it will work but it should, you might need to copy your voice files over as well.

Thank you. I don't know why but two messages I have just posted are not being showed in the site. Was I blocked or censored?

I did something else before your message above. I downloaded the file SE 9.430.rar from here: http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9484-Navcore-Version-9.430, cleaned my GPS and extracted the file SE 9.430 inside my GPS. The only problem I got was while running fastactive. It complained about 2 files missing. But then I unplugged and plugged it again in my PC, ran fastactive again and it didn't complain about anything anymore. The GPS seems to be working fine with new menu and everything.

My only doubts are: IN the link mentioned above, above SE 9.430.rar are two other links for the files navcore-LE.cab, navcore-GO.cab. What is the difference between them? They seem to be the same thing to me, in other words: navcores.

1. OK.
2. This was not necessary. FA 1.8.9.0 has the 895 metas included.
3. OK.
4. The 4438 maps require navcore 9.02X or higher. Your 8.017 navcore is not compatible with this map.

I have just tried to update the navcore of my tomtom one (very old gps) and it seems to have worked perfectly. Now I want to do the same with my tomtom XL 350, but I'd like to understand a few things first.

At the link: http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9484-Navcore-Version-9.430
1. There are 3 available downloads there. A file named SE_9.430.rar, a file named 9.430.2-2008.le.CAB-navcore-LE.cab, and a file named 9.430.1-2008.go.CAB-navcore-GO.cab.
What are the differences between them?

2. What I did in my tomtom one was just to replace everything but the map in my device with the files inside the folder SE_9.430 created by the first file mentioned above. When I ran fastactive it complained about 2 files that were missing, but after I unplugged and plugged again the device, and ran again fastactive it didn't complain about those two missing files anymore. It seems like they appeared out of nowhere inside the device.

3. Anyway, I'd like to really understand what I'm supposed to do with my tomtom xl 350 to avoid any kind of problem.
Thank you in advance for anyone willing to help.

1. The 2 .CABs are unaltered downloads straight from TomTom. SE_9.430.rar is a complete pre-patched version.

2. If you install SE_9.430.rar, you don't need either of the .CABs. The 2 mystery files were ttgo.bif and/or ttnavigator.bif. Your device uses the ttgo.bif & creates a new one every time the device is booted. FastActivate needs this file to patch a map. When a clean installation of a navcore is done, there isn't a ttgo.bif present until a boot up is attempted. This is clearly explained in post 1 of the FastActivate thread.

3. Make a backup of your 350's current setup. Copy all of the SE_9.430.rar files into your 350, overwriting any common files. Patch you map with FA 1.8.9.0. Disconnect & re-boot.

The above was copied from your other thread, which has been deleted. In the future, please don't double post.

thanks a lot. things are clear now. two doubts still remain though.

First you said one of the files that were missing is created in the boot, but how about the other one? i didn't undertand this part. Only one was created during boot, right?

and last doubt, shouldn't i remove all files before copying the new navcore to the gps? you said to just copy them replacing any existing files, but keeping the old ones. can't that cause some kind of incompatibility?

Thank you again for your help and patience.

2a. you said to just copy them replacing any existing files, but keeping the old ones.

1. Re-read the second "point # 2" sentences 2 & 3. They are self explanatory.
2. If a "clean install" is what you should do, don't you think I would have instructed you to do so?
2a. What I said was, "Copy all of the SE_9.430.rar files into your 350, overwriting any common files".
2b. No. If it would, why would I instruct you to do it.
