Map not working on TomTom!

Map not working on TomTom!

Postby wharfie79 » Sun Jan 02, 2011 3:41 pm

Hi there,

I have a Tom Tom One 3rd Edition. I know it's old but I rarely use it. I am about to head off on a trip Tuesday and so I decided to try and install downloaded maps to my unit.

It says that current Navcore version is 8.010 (I hope that's right) and I tried to install v 8.55.2884 Australia maps.

I even worked out how to activate it using FastActivate. I thought that would be it but now when I turn on my device it says the maps will not work.

I need help please! What can I do or download? I am not very technological, so simple instructions would be much appreciated, so I can fix my Tom Tom before Tuesday.

Your NC version does not support 855.2884 maps (as can be seen on this table: http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2662-All-Maps-855.XXXX ). So you have two options: update your NC or choose another map that is supported by NC 8.010.

You have 2 map choices with 8.010. Aus. 855.2883, which is out of date, & 860.3100. Or as Megalos said, you can update your navcore to 8.2XX or higher.

Thanks for the advice.

I have updated to Navcore.8.412.1236 which is compatible with that particular map.

The only dilemma now is that I can't do a lot of things on Tom Tom Home. Any way around that?

You can do everything on TT HOME you like. What features do not work you think?

Well when I tried you use Operate My One it wouldn't work. So i turned it all off and restarted.

Now it's telling me in Operate My One that there is "Problem With Map: You cannot use this map on this device - Australia 182"

I don't know what else to do?

You have to patch TT HOME. You can do that with Fast Activate.

If you are referring to the invalid navcore message and/or operate my device, this will correct both issues.

To fix version error.
Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad.
Replace lines 9 & 10 with these:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
"Save as" ttgo.bak
Disconnect & reboot.
