Map Update or not ??

Map Update or not ??

Postby majestic100 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 3:46 pm

Have updated XL Classic with latest UK & ROI 890.4324 map It was previously v845.xxxx. However whilst TomTom home says the the map is up to date (plus number of mapshare map corrections in use), when I go to purchase maps it says the the device has the original v845 map installed (installed in the United Kingdom_and_Republic_of_ Ireland_890_4324 folder) but the v890 map is available for download ???

I know the device has the latest map installed (I've browsed both before and after update) but don't know why TomTom Home should say otherwise. Appreciate any views and whether this can be rectified.

UK & ROI 890.4324 I think you mean UK & ROI 890.4234. There isn't a 4324 version.

The answer is simple. Your 4234 is patched, not purchased. Rectification is also simple. Don't click the Purchase Map button.

TT Home on this computer is the registered "home" for my GO, which has a 890.4222 map on it. TT Home does the same as yours. It wants me to buy the 710.1584 version. When I connect a "guest" device to TT Home on this computer, it reacts the same as yours with other models.

I only use "purchase maps" to find which is the latest map for the device that wants updating; XL Classic, GO710 etc. Once updated I check again to confirm that I have the latest (patched) map installed. This is the first occurrence of being told i still have a map update to perform. In this case the 845 map folder was removed before 890 map installed.. "Purchase Maps" indicates the 845 map is in the 890 folder !?!

1. This is all well & good, if you are working with a stock device. But for a modded device, it is a total waste of time.
2. Please post screen shots, so we can see exactly what you are referring to.

Sorry in delayed reply. (updated) Device returned to owner so cannot post screen shots. When I'm asked to update again and (if) same result occurs I'll repost with screen shot. Thanks for feedback
