Maps For V7 I Think

Thu Jan 15, 2015 1:03 am

I downloaded this tomtom for wince 5 last night

https://XXXXXXXXXXX.com/2010/12/26/tomtom7_on_wince5_namaps/

It runs but just goes straight to no maps. Am I looking for v7 maps and just put them in the map folder like I do with iGO Primo? This is running from SD card if that helps.

Cheers

Please ask for support at the place where you got the files.
We are well sorted here and only offer support for our files.
By the way: We also offer working tutorials;)

Please ask for support at the place where you got the files. Hmm. Send lost member elsewhere rather than point them in the right direction or offer assistance.

We are well sorted here and only offer support for our files. Fair enough

By the way: We also offer working tutorials. Looked and seen none with an understanding title to assist me hence asking for also so many have dead links or link back to pages that wont open as they are either in some forum archive or been deleted. Example topic1.html or noref.php?url=http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/6WLMLOCD/HC1.rar_links

Thank you

You are not a lost member, just one that does not use our forum in the right way, otherwise you would not download crap from weird websites ;)
It is true that most of our CE links for TT are dead, but if anyone would have had some need for them it is still an option to report dead links to the uploader for a fix.
And no, I have neither a problem the CE downloads for TT, nor tutorials explaining how to install them...

The point is that it makes no sense to support stuff we don't have.
The reason someone asks for help with such files is usually that he went for the first crappy source of something that might work - but only offers a download and nothing more.
Even Google would have showed enough results (after some reading of course) stating two things:
a) Windows CE is dead
b) Tomtom was never a good choice for CE devices to start with

Forget about TT and use Igo, the only other and better option would be to upgrade to a proper Android system.
Sure you can find working TT software for CE, but you have to install it the right way and in return you get a navigation system that is less than just basic - not worth the hassle IMHO....

Thanks. Got maps from the torrents. Just a licence issue to sus. As for use igo, I do. Tomtom is just an itch needing scratched and something to learn as I know almost nothing about Tomtom.

Now, if both they links work for you I suggest you log out and back in again as a normal user as they don't work for me. I am going to switch to Android BTW when I decide what unit to buy. Cant decide between a Satnav or rooted phone as android is much faster and touch screen more responsive. My present android phone is a tad small at 4" screen.

Just forget about TT on CE.
Stick to Igo and play with the other programs once you settled on an Android.
TT would only give you what a very basic GPS would offer:
A moving map
POI's
Basic navigation
It won't offer:
Spoken street names
Junction views
Traffic information

On top of all that you will most likely suffer problems during the installation/activation.
Just trust me on this one as I used CE devices for a long time, TT never managed to satisfy me in any way;)

Just forget about TT, I used a lot of CE based stuff back in the day and TT never managed to satisfy on the most basic level.

Stick yet TT :tease: My Binatone is on fleebay  Seen some nice Chinese units for around £50 that has Bluetooth, video and MP3 playback and a few games also. Ill be looking into a few of them and looking for reviews. I bought a Chinese tablet and that has been great since I got it. Everyone says stick with brand names as well yet some people have to send there tablets back for a repair.

Where downloads are concerned, we are normal users, just like all of our members.
