Having pretty much a wasted evening loading different versions wiping clean etc

I have a TomoTom One 3rd edition or so it says on the bottom, it was set with 8.010 official, downloaded 880.3868 UK & ROI map, ran autoactivate, said it worked but map not recognised, tried various versions of navcore to end up at SE_Navcore.8.412.1236_32mb_devices but with same map it still says ok to patch but fails to load map with you cannot use map on this device message

What am I doing wrong?

TTcurrentconfig gives me this...

1. your map is not patched. Did you update the autoactivate meta.txt before patching the map?

Not sure, the 3868 map comes with a meta.txt file I placed on the root like this

and the 3810 comes with nothing, what do I do with it? I thought the autoactivate downloaded the metatext file?

1. remove [color="#800000"]&[/color] character from map folder name if exist

2. remove own meta.txt from root and map folder, and be sure you map is not folder inside other folder

3. run autoactivate.exe it download new meta.txt (IF you allow it in your firewall)

4. check map folder *.meta.dct file exist

Removed meta.txt from all of device, ran autoactivate but if you watch it quickly throws up an error then goes to the next bit

All the Maps/Voices/Speedcams which can be found is activated from the
root directory for:

Device Name=TomTom ONE Application=8412 DeviceID=XYZ

Also checked and I have no *.meta.dct in the map folder

use latest version also

My own post gave me the hint... Not sure where Auto activate 1.3 came from but when I read it I remembered we're up to 1.8! copied across 1.8 and now it works with the map :) just need sounds by thelook of it
