ID On a missing component on XL 30 Mainboard

Postby pfr108 » Fri Feb 27, 2015 9:37 am

Basically I bought a faulty XL and the previous owner thought there was a reset button where the led is...
So the little component marked DMV X2 is missing so I need to purchase one.
Any help would be great.

Thanks Kev

Are the pics from your faulty TT? Just wondering as they show the part soldered on...
If my long lost SMD knowledge is not totally wrong it would be Zener diode, BZX99-C13 to be precise.
Although a 15V Zener diode makes no real sense in a TT, maybe it is for protection or a totally different item - a lot of similar codes exists for SMD parts making it very hard to identify them unless you can test a working piece.
The datasheet can be found [Please Register or Login to download file] .
Before doing anything you should confirm it is the right part by checking the connections, especially if pin 2 is not connected anywhere.

Thanks for your reply...The photo is from a replacement mainboard I purchased exactly the same as mine,
My pc would recognise my original mainboard with the missing component but could not recognise the internal memory to infiltrate and load new nav and maps?
I'll have a look at the datasheet to see if it helps.

Thanks Kev

If you have a working replacement the TT should accept it.
Otherwise (if your skills allow it) you can de-solder the part and check it to confirm whether it is a diode or a transistor.
