Missing Internal Memory

I am supposed to have 1GB internal storage...

but if you look at the image below
the used and available space is only showing about half the capacity



should i reformat the internal memory or is the space being used by the device ??

We don't recommend formating, except in extreme cases. Open windows explorer. Right click on the ONE XL drive & left click Delete or Cut,

ok i have cut and paste so the data was backed up

the drive is now empty with only 489MB free

still missing nearly 500MB

is it possible that tomtom has made the partiton smaller in the factory
as this device would have only required 250MB
but clearly from the image above there is 1GB on board...

i have both here mac and pc

also i just went to the tomtom page and from the serial i got this response

ONE XL - 1GB

both the mac and pc report only 489MB available with the device empty

I would really like to put the DE AT CH and Eastern Europe 860.3101 [660.8MB] with nc 9.205 in the internal

and Europe 860.3102 [2382.6MB] with 9.205 on a new 4GB SDHC that i am waiting on the post ...

maybe i just try to extract them map onto the device and see what happens....

it might find the extra space...

well that didnt work...

now i am thinking if the internal flash is on 2 chips... maybe one chip is faulty...

Ok I have now 9.205 auto install
Poland 860.3101
On the internal

Now have 5MB free ram

Is it possible to add DE into the Poland map as a custom map ?

As this was the only reason to need the Eastern Europe map...

Before it is closed, a question for you. I see many members on your side of the "Big Pond" commenting that they are waiting on a new SD card to arrive in the post. Are they that hard to get?

I should have just gone to a store...

But I ordered online ... What a big mistake !!!
4 days waiting due to Christmas then the company shipped the wrong item so I had to send it back and wait again for a replacement...

All this to save a few bucks... Should have just got it from a camera or computer store !!!

I still might just do it they are so cheap...
