Hoping this wil be an easy question.

Trying to update a friends Nav3 based device but keep getting a not compatible(or similar screen error message) So I am curious as too which is the latest that can be used.

Using TTactivator 1.20 to update btw,


Process I have done..
Patched device...
update meta in tools
Downloaded map, installed to device
update meta on device
rebooted...

Map tried to install western europe 1 v1145

Error is you cannot use this map on this device Wester_europe_1

Same with other maps too

Problems installing the map "Europe_TRUCK_1145_12641" on Nav 3 (TomTom Start 20)....
When calculating the route, the GPS is blocked....
I used TTactivator 1.20
With the map "Europe_TRUCK_1140_12542" it works great.

@lohtse: Did you check if the map you installed had a meta and did you ACTIVATE the map?
See "Once the map is installed, reboot your device from the "NAV3 Tools" menu for activation to happen."

On "installed Content' tab look for .meta and choose 'activate'

Hmmm am new too TT stuff(I prefer garmin) so I am on a learning curve here....But the message when the map is sent t the device states

the map has been successfull installed to the device, remember to Upload latest meta abd then reboot the device from the nav3/nav4 tools menu to automatcally actvate map

also .meta does not show in the installed content tab



Hmmm think I just found the issue . the map on the device is 1-104222 but meta is 1-104421 so the meta may be out of date for all of the maps I tried.

Did you install the map from the map downloader?
TTActivator should give a message informing you if a valid meta exists and the map can be activated.

I just installed a NAV3 map on a NAV2 device (Central-Europe) and it works beautifully although I do have to delete some files because the current map is >> 2GB; too big for my device.
WARNING: You'll have to know which files you can do without! Most files are essential for the map to work.

yep from the map downloader and always get that message but always fails to activate when I choose the map on the device... This is why we are having the discussion lol



Would you be willing too share your meta.txt fie???

Be aware that updating TTActivator doesn't always update the meta.txt with every new meta so if you find the meta you need elsewhere then copy/paste it into the meta.txt in TTActivator

would not even know where to look for any other data for the meta... like I said earlier in a post I am new too tt stuff as prefer garmin

I'll give you a (selected) list of European maps which have got a meta file and thus can be activated/patched

Since the meta.txt file is just txt you can copy and paste this in it.
Mind you that you'll have to put your attention to the 1145 part of the map names as this indicates the most recent map, Feb-25. The rest of the numbers should match exactly with the map you installed.

Well, the forum is for all navigation.
It's only in the TT-area where Garmin could be considered a swear word. :D

I worked with Garmin too but I do prefer TT.

Would you happen to know if those maps are else where as they dont seem to show in the activator...
