navcore 9.205.547817.1 and Rider V2

Postby grahn » Tue Jan 04, 2011 10:29 pm

Hello, all those really useful guys from GPSunder... nice to find you again. I copied some rider3 files from a Dutch site and installed them on my rider V2. I love the new GUI and planning preferences like "winding roads" well done Tom Tom. I just copied the files ontop of my old and now my system show app 9.205.547817.1 os 547200. There were no map files and the new navcore like my original UKROI map. So I tried the same on my other SD which has Western-Europe 130. The new Gui reported a problem with the map so I reverted to navcore 7.9. I notice with nav 9.2 there is 0 free memory. Have I loaded the right 9.2 navcore? Unzipped files from one source look like files from another interms of size names etc. There is no readme in the dir to confirm which navcore it is. I only know from the version info of page 6 once installed. Great to find all the old hands. Theres life in my old tomtom yet.
When you unzip the files is it ok to just copy over old files? How do I fix western-europe problem with map?

However we don't support downloads from other sites.

To clarify navcore 9.20547817 reports problems with maps that have been activated and worked with 7.9 except my orginal UKROI which works fine until you add a second map to the SD then easy activator which does UKROI and the new map ok. After activation 9.2 says there is a problem with both maps. Its not the maps, I guess a peculiarity with riderv2 and 9.2 navcore.

I can't help with the 9.205 navcore, since you got it elsewhere.

To me it sounds that the maps are activated but your Navcore is not patched.
As we don't know whats inside files you downloaded elsewhere I suggest to try it again with one of our pre Navcores and a SE ttsystem.
Alternatively you can use the 9.205 as a DSA Navcore in self mode as it is reported to wrok fine on all Rider devices [Please Register or Login to download file]
Pw: downunder
Unpack, copy to your empty device, add the map and a copy of your ttgo.bif, activate the map (you can use your already activated map if you want) and restart the device.
After the first start you will get a reboot which is normal and part of the installation.
The Navcore is already patched.

I tried again with 9.205.rider3.cab_navcore_RIDER from here. This winzip unpacks and seems the same as what I was using before. Runs on rider with 0 free memory, once a trip locks up and reboots and (cause 0 free mem) problem with new maps. I download and unpacked the LINK above. The file content is very different to 9.205. Will it present the same GUI as 9.205? What does 9.205 as DSA navcore in self mode mean? Will this be the same as copying all the file in the LINK above 9.205 for Rider dir?

You should not use the .cab for a R2. Instead use these:

X_ttsystem.9.205.547817.1
X_Navcore.9.205.547817.1.Basicpack

Personally I don't like the dsa versions. They add to much junk when installed.

Still don't understand

Postby grahn » Tue Jan 11, 2011 7:23 pm

So I copied the ttsystem file which is only 4168kbytes to my sd overwriting the cab3 7.45mb original. I copied the PND file and the folder outsourced.9205 to my sd. Power up and lockup up on the startup bike screen. So I restored the org. tt system file to get back to square 1. Looked in the ttgo file with notepad. This file ids my current UKROI map address etc. The readmenot in the x_ttsystem is not crystal clear.

No,no,no. You copy the entire contents of X_ttsystem.9.205.547817.1 & Navcore.9.205.547817.1.Basicpack into your device.

Sorry, I am really bad at this...
Do I have to extract the content of the two files directly on the main root?
what else? I am probably doing something wrong as I get the black screen with the tomtom logo.
thnx for help....
