Navcore 9.205 = TomTom Version 8.398

Postby quarkrad » Thu Feb 24, 2011 9:27 am

Out of interest - I have just loaded my Go520 with Navcore 9.205.547817 and map 860.3101 using Autoactivate on the device to activate. When I connect to PC/TomTom Home I'm told I have application version 8.398 and map 860.3101 Is this right? (I was expecting Home to say I have version 9.xxxx)

Where in TT Home are you seeing 8.398? Out of Interest, what 860.3101 map did you load?

The map was United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_860.3101 This may be relevant/the issue - I could not find any info on how to 'patch TTHome'. So all I did was to copy the Navcore, map and ttsystem to the root of the Device (TT Go520) and then Activate it by clicking on the Activate icon that was also in root. After it was activated I tested it and it all seems to work. I then connected the TT to my PC and launched Home. There was a small map update and then I went to Manage My Device to have a look at what was installed (although I knew). When I pressed on the + sign by Application it told me I had version 8.398.

Disregard the 8.398. With a patched navcore, you get erroneous readings in several places on TT Home.. All that matters is what the readings are on the unit itself.

This is the new replacement for your 860 map.

I have run into a bit of trouble installing a new map on my SD card (this is in addition to the UK map on root).
1. I installed Alps_plus_major_roads_of_WE_3245 on the SD card and read Help in FastActivate.
2. I had no meta.txt file in either root, the UK map or the SD/Alps map so this is what I did:
3. Copied ttgo.bif from root to the SD map
4. Copied fastActivate to the SD map
5. Copied the meta data for the UK maps and AlpsWE maps ad created a file called mymeta.txt
6. copied mymeta.txt to root and the map on the sD card
7. Launched FastActivate from the SD map and activated

Rebooted. When I try to switch maps from the device I'm told that I cannot use the map. Alps_plus_major_roads_of_WE_297

Any help appreciared.

1. OK
2. You shouldn't. The meta.txt is in Fastactivate.
3. No
4. No
5. See 2 above
6. No see 2 above

It appears that you didn't read the instructions here: FastActivate ENG 09.01.2011 {1.8.03}

Apologies for that. I got rid of the files I created and followed your steps. What seems to be happening is that FastActivate is not seeing the map on the SD card. I copied FastActivate to the SD map and launched it from there, again, when I press the Map/Speed Camera etc it only sees the UK map on my P drive. On my PC TT is P:\ and the SD card is 0:\ (not sure whether this is relevant but Fastactivate also cannot find TomTom Home Profile dll on my PC.

You are not following the instructions & are making the same mistake.

Still not playing. I reformatted card and copied map to card and carefully followed instructions. FastActivate does not see SD card. If I copy FastActiviate to SD card and click on the Map button FastActivate asks me to enter the drive letter of the device. It only sees my root drive - this is the only one listed. If I put in the drive letter for the SD card FastActivate ignores it. I tried 'the old' EasyUseTools' method - this told me I had certain files missing, Cline.dat, Cname.dat, Cnode.dat and mapinfo.dat. These files are in the SD card map. I re downloaded the map in case something was corrupt but again I cannot activate it. My PC 'sees' the SD card as does TTHome but it looks to me that none of the tools see the card.

OK - thanks. I've sorted started again re SD card. These are my steps:

Started with working TT (9.205) & UK map
Formatted SD card (FAT32)
Copied Alps map to card (Alps-865.3245) to SD card*
Put SD card in TT and connected to PC
Copied FastActivate (1.8.0.3) to root
Launched FastActivate and pressed the Maps/Voices/Speedcams button

The FastActivate windows look like they only see the UK map and activate. I disconnect the TT and reboot it. When I switch maps to the SD Alps map I'm told 'You cannot use this map on this device'.

* Nothing else on card -only the map folder. Do I need a Voices folder on the SD card with the .chk files?

Sorry about this and thanks for your help.
