A clarification is in order: I'm running an SE version on a GO X20.

Wed Jun 20, 2012 8:36 pm

So I guess that it's decision time for me.

SE 8.414 will give me ALG, IQ routes and customised menus but I'll have much less RAM and I won't be able to update my UK map from 885 to 890 because a meta isn't available.

9.450 will give me much more RAM and I can update my map from 885 to 890 but I'll lose ALG, IQ routes & customised menus.

I'll stick with 9.450.

I tried re-installing the backup. It didn't make any difference to the re-boot / menu delay problems.
I can live with that. The device rebooted before I had a chance to create a demo route, check the RAM and switch off.

I'm in the same boat: I keep the activated map on the device and wipe everything else.
Then I re-install the NavCore, but the device crashes and re-boots before I can complete the route/demo step.
Then when it re-boots, it runs slow.
I've had it running propery, but it took about 7 or 8 reboots for it to work right.
Then left the device off for a day, and next time I use it it's back to square 1.

I think this could be something to with the satellite fix.
When it's got a signal already (if I switch it on not long after I've switched it off), then it seems to run right.
But when I switch it on and there's no satelite fix, it takes ages to get the signal and it runs slow.

Today I switched it on and off a few times, til' it booted up with enough ram, it ran right for a couple of miles then crashed.

Am I doing something wrong with the install?

One other thing I've noticed: there's no house numbers on the streets. Is this down to the NavCore, Map or Zip file?

EDIT: Used the device last night (after another fresh install), booted up and ran perfect on a 130 mile route of mixed roads, 9mb free.
Then I took a wrong turn on a roundabout (on purpose), the device started to re-calculate route, then crashed. Couldn't get it to run right for the next 80 miles or so.

Tested this on Go910. In Demo at 490%, the device ran without crashing. Also, the device powers on and stay on as long as I'm not moving. As soon as I move, it starts to recalculate and then goes into rebooting mode. The rebooting recycles on and on each time it is at the "legal notice" screen. This goes on until power runs dry.

You don't need a version with memory boost on a 64mb device, especially not if you prefer to use the extra hardware your device offers.
Please use the standard version or my fullback of the the 9.430.

The upload for the memoryboost version will be changed later today and replaced by a version that should work more stable and without the crash at the recalculating.

Where might the 9.430 be found?

Thanks for this I have it running on my TT1 2nd ed, runs well no issues :) alg and iq routes working, I currently have it running as x40.
Is there anyway it could be reskined as a ONE IQ routes as the speed is shown in larger characters in this emulation (or at least it was when i ran in like this under 8.45)

I am attempting to install on a tomtom one classic. I have it working without any issues. I have tried to change the skin but I only get the old original skin and this does not give me the option to activate IQ routes etc.

What skins are possible on a tomtom one classic? Can someone help me with the reskin file please?

Edit - I realised I just had to delete the other emulations and also the self bit of text on the reskin file.

On some devices the skinchanger is supressed if the device officially does not support anything else, manual editing the reskin file is the only option if you need a different emulation.
Just make sure it is saved without any file extension and if the device won't boot with a selected emulation you have to change the file again before you can start it.
I know it is not a perfect solution but at this stage the only thing possible.
@defibf : same for you if the skin changer is not visible edit the reskin file, otherwise selevet XL Live for the emu (36)

My speedcam button under services is greyed out when I use this navicore, I have made sure the latest cams are there and their dct is generated. I don't know how to resolve?

Try a different emulation.

Has the memory boost version been changed?

Simply check if the first posting was edited after your last download.

I was looking in the wrong place. I was expecting to see something by the "LINK" button.

I've succesfully updated my XL30 32mb with the amended memory boost version.
It re-booted once when I switched the device on for the first time.
It's still a bit slow to fully "wake up" after connecting to TT Home but that isn't a problem and it doesn't re-boot.

The good news :-

1. I've now got a lot more menu icons.
2. I've got IQ routes back.
3. ALG appears to be back although I haven't tested the device in my car yet.
4. Moving through the menus is a lot quicker.
5. There's no re-booting when doing a DEMO route.
6. It appears to pick up the signal a lot quicker.

Available RAM is a bit less (settles at around 6.5MB) but that's still more than I was getting with my 8.414.

A job well done. Thank you.
