Hi i reccomend using a 9.026 .cab file and Matching SE ttsystem file, this will be a good combination for you, but please check your bootloader before you change any files if you have a 1x bootloader please ask here for what to do next also make a full backup with explorer first ;)

Connect your tomtom to your pc and open up the drive in explorer and open the file bootloaderversion.txt ;)

I have a go 930t too, Bootloaderversion=5.5120. Current navcore is 8.351 which seems to be the latest officially supported verion
Which 9.026 cab file would you recommend (I see them for the xl2009, one2009, go750 & go950) and where will one find the matching ttsystem file, or does it come with the cab file?

I found the thread listing navcore, and saw a 9.something listed for x20 and x30 - would that work and is it just a simple matter of copying the files over to the tomtom?

I guess I should add that I'm only trying to update the navcore as the notes along with 8.70.3460 mention that it only works with 9.x.

edit:further searching I see that it may be possible to use 8.70 with my current navcore (8.351) if I just run fastactivate; is that correct? so could I just copy over the new map to my tomtom and run factactivate, or must I use a SD card? I see that the new map's folder name (europe) is different from my current one (Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB); would I go with the old name or new name
I'll quit asking questions now, though I'll keep reading as this looks to be kind of fun
thanks!

Okay, I found this thread which shows a 9.135 for x20/x30/x40/XL & XXL IQ Routes edition; will that work and if so do I just copy it over to my tomtom and that's it?

9.135 is a Taiwan navcore. 8.351 is still the current NC for your 930. I suggest you try 9.053 or 9.054.

There are several full featured maps that will run with 8.351. If you wish to keep it;
Make a backup.
Download FastActivate Premium.
Download your new map. Remove the old map folder, if you no longer need it. Copy in the new map folder.
Run Fastactivate to patch the navcore & map.
Disconnect & reboot.

No problem using a SD card, if you are short of storage space.
The map folder can be named anything.

had to remove the US map to make room, removed the old western-europe folder, copied over the europe folder, copied over fastactivate premium, ran it, patched the map first and then the navcore, reboot, no maps found. Next step?

Please confirm the files for the map are in a folder located in root of your device/SD card and not in a subfolder.
