I assume you used the lates version of FA and not an old copy on your PC.
But from the symtoms I could assume that you new map is corrupted or that some files are missing.
Delete the currentmap.dat in the root and reinstall the map, check if you get any error from Winrar during the unpacking.
Activate the map again using FA.
If no other map is present your TT will start with the new map and should work fine.
Also check your current bootloader, if you still have a 4.X or 5.3xx it might cause problems with the V9 NC's.
If that is the case check the downloaded NC for a file "systemxxxx" where the xxxx represent the version number, rename to just "system" and reboot.

1. Using the latest ver. FA
2. Deleted currentmap info and reinstalled map with no errors.Patched with FA.
3. Bootloader is 5.5250
4. System file is already just "system"
Problem still the same as Post #15

Have you only used the bare Navcore and patched it?
If so used the instructions of post #4 and extracted the files of the x_ttsystem?
This is the patched version for your device, simple patching is not enough.
And you should never format, a simple delete is sufficient.

May I suggest starting over 1 more time.

1. Erase the card, but do not format it.
2. Copy this navcore to the card. [Please Register or Login to download file]
3. Download the attached pre-patched ttsystem file to the card, overwriting the unpatched one.
4. Put a copy of your ttgo.bif file on the card.
5. Copy your map to the card.
6. Put FA 1.8.8.5 on the card. Run FA & click the map button ONLY. Do not try to patch the navcore
7. Put the card in your device & boot it.
