Navigator on Binatone Carrera

Postby Solitaire01 » Sun Feb 19, 2012 1:24 am

I have successfully installed tt navigator7 (ver7910.9185 and UK and ROI map ver830.2307) on an SD card in a binatone and was wondering if it is at all possible to patch the new version of tt home to recognise the unofficial hardware and use mapshare. I have tried downloading the patchfiles from this thread:

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6385-poor-reception-on-navigo-V2-running-TT7&highlight=poor+reception

but I think the host site is down and the link does not work.

I would be grateful if anyone could advise which are the latest tomtom program and map which can be used with this binatone (A350) and if it is possible to get it to work with TTHome?

Cheers

WinCE Mapshare patch

1. Make copy of TTNAVIGATOR.BIF to TTGO.ORI.

2. copy these files to root directory, Do not put them inside a folder.

3. Rename map folder to "Map" without the quotes.

4, Restart Tomtom, it may crash.

Tomtom home will not see your device over Activesync or WMDC, so use a card reader or set your device to mass storage mode.

When all is done you can run TomTom HOME and mapshare works now....

Tomtom home will think your device is a actual Tomtom device and offer updates related to it, uncheck everything except mapshare updates, also you don't need to sign in to get mapshare updates.

SUCCESS

Done as outlined in Fatboyfun's post and connected the SD card (in card reader) to the latest TT Home.

Downloaded mapshare updates without any trouble.

Would like to ask if it is safe to download anything else?

QuickGPSfix?

Would downloading speedcams involve logging in?

Cheers

Get speedcams from here...

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6933-TomTom-Official-Speedcams-18.2.12

Read the instructions carefully.

Bear in mind that Tomtom home thinks your device is an actual Tomtom device and will offer updates for it. Just use it for mapshare updates, everything else is available from this forum.
