Hi, right now running 8.398 truck Europe maps from sd card on tomtom 720, i want to run the North America and Canada maps on the second Sd card, maps are 905... what do i need to run these maps? get a 9700 navcore and should that work? or do just get an older maps? unless would there be an issue if i get a different navcore for the second sc card with these maps? like 9500. would this cause any issues on the tomtom?

What is on the internal memory?

just a standard 8.351 one more thing, these maps for North America 905.4852, missing tmeta file, would that cause fast activate to get a dct error when trying to patch it up? i just tried mine 750 running 9.700 navcore, same dct when patching


managed to use different meta an activate the America maps, loaded up correctly on tomtom 750, so i am guessing it wont run on 8.398? on the margin: are the truck maps only available for Europe? or can i get them for North America?

1. Current Truck navcore is 9.700 & current Truck map is Europe_TRUCK v905.4798. TT does not offer a North America truck map. Current GO 720 navcore is 9.510. Current full featured North America map for a 720 is 905.4805. The current Truck map will not fit on a 2GB internal or external memory. My suggestion is put navcore 9.510 & NA 905.4805 on your 2GB internal memory. Put Truck navcore 9.700 & Truck map 905.4798 on a SDHC 4GB or larger card. With no SD card installed, the unit runs on the internal memory. When a card with a navcore is installed, it becomes the default navcore.

Ok, i think i was a wee bit inpatient lol, (still need a new card lol) just copied over a a dump of 9.700 over and NA maps 905.4852, changed the meta, and all good! of course it wont run the attributes from truck but looks good. I'll just copy the whole content over to new card and add both maps, and leave it like that the now, thanks again, i'll post an update once all is competed

1. All is not good. NA 905.4852 is not a full featured map, you want 905.4805!! I told you this in post 4.

sorry mate, im just downloading 4805, wasn't for me these NA maps, i was just rushing about, cause i already downloaded earlier 4852, i've checked diagram, i should've do this earlier,
