Need help running tom tom on a car entertainment system with

Postby young88a » Tue Apr 17, 2012 4:28 am

Hello, i tryed many ways, but untill now i wasnt able to get it to run in my system.

I downloaded "Tom Tom7.910_WinCE6.0.RAR"

In the readme.txt file, i follow the instructions, but i need to edit a file inside the Navigator folder, the file is TT7 Navigator.mscr because the default Navi path on my system cant be changed, so i need to edit this file and put the correct path.

The file i edit have this info:

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Errorlevel ("off")

RegDeleteKey ("HKLM", "System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\ActivityTimers", True, True)
RegDeleteKey ("HKLM", "System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\SystemIdle", True, True)
RegDeleteKey ("HKLM", "System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\UserIdle", True, True)
RegDeleteKey ("HKLM", "System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts", True, True)

Delete ("\SDMMC_Card\Hong Kong 880.3841\MapSettings.cfg")
sleep 100

Delete ("\SDMMC_Card\Polnav\CurrentMap.dat")
Delete ("\SDMMC_Card\Polnav\UserPatch.dat")

sleep 100

XCopy("\SDMMC_Card\Polnav\MapSettings\*.*", ("\SDMMC_Card\Hong Kong 880.3841\")
sleep 100

SET SETMEM, "\SDMMC_Card\Polnav\SetMem.exe"

Run (%SETMEM%, "70000")
sleep 100

#Start Navigator
#Run(SystemPath("ScriptPath")\"TomTom Navigator.exe")

Run("\SDMMC_Card\Polnav\TomTom Navigator.exe")
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The default path in my car system for navi software its, \SDMMC Card\Polnav\Polnav.exe
so everything to run from the SD card must use this path and file name.

I already edit with the correct path, but nothing happens.

I post here the readme file with the instructions :

------------------------------------------------------------------------

THIS IS FOR SDMMC

IF NOT THAN EDIT TT7 Navigator.mscr WITH NOTEPAD

0) COPY CONTENT TO ROOT DIR OF SDMMC

1) RUN TT7 Navigator.exe IN YOUR GPS

2) THAN EXIT

3) TAKE OUT SDMMC CARD , USE CARD READER TO VIEW IT IN WINDOWS PC

3) NEW FILE CREATED IN ROOT DIR = ttnavigator.bif COPY IT TO MAP DIR ( Hong Kong 880.3841 )

4) RUN FastActivate.exe IN MAP DIR CLIK MAPS/VOICE/SPEEDCAMS TO ACTIVATE MAP

5) RUN TT7 Navigator.exe IN YOUR GPS ( DONE )
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so i rename the file TT7 Navigator.exe to Polnav.exe but nothing happens

I believe that TT7 navigator.exe its the file to crack tom tom, and it will use info from the file TT7 Navigator.mscr

Anyone have any idea what i might be doing wrong?

The reason i dont want to use Polnav, its that i cant find any Macau map for this software, and also its only a demo version, if anyone knows where i can find maps and activate it, please just let me know.

Sorry for the long post, and hope to get some precious clues to make this work.

One more thing, if i try to run without the crack file, i wil lsee Tom Tom splash screen, but it will give a memory error.
Thanks

You are comparing apples with peaches if you don't mind me saying it that way.
Almost every program for CE systems needs a specific folder structure and by installing TT into the wrong folders you made it almost impossible to run correctly.
I would suggest to use ANY other GPS software as TT is far too outdated and lacks basically all modern features.
Also I would not recommend messing with your original files, especially if they contains registry instructions.
There are two ways to solve your problem (3 if you forget about TT and use something else) :
1. install TT correctly and into the correct folders - when activating the map make sure to press the on "update meta" and after that on the button for the maps and voices.
If a .meta.dct file is present in your map folder, then the map is activated.
To get TT to start use a mortscript in your Polnav folder with the same name as the original EXE.
The mortscript file needs to contain all settings you need and at the end the correct path to start TT in its own folder.

2. Use a custom menu, install it in your Polnav folder and adjust the menu so you can start whatever program you like.
Several menus are posted in the forum, most have instructions included.

I will try to find those menus in the forum.

Than I suggest you first check which GPS program actually has the map you seek and of course to find a suitable download link.
Makes no sense to try some GPS programs if you can't get the right map for them.

Igo primo is easy to set up on win ce devices and definately has maps for that region. I would go that route.

SOLVED, thank you guys, you were of great help.

As for Tom Tom, my error was that i renamed the exe file to Polnav, but never renamed the .mscr to the same name hehe.

iGo was the easiest to solve and runs great on my system, the only problem i find is that if i start to listen music from my car entertainment system, and after that i run iGo, it will start, show the map and suddenly its like it minimizes and i get into my car UI. iGo is still running cause i can listen the voice guidance. Is there any setting in a config file to change this behaviour? i cant find anything.
With Polnav, even im listen to music from my car UI, Polnav will stay on top.

Any ideas?

thanks
