Mon Apr 15, 2013 12:15 pm

Hi there , i having hard time to update my tomtom xl, at first I needed to do a low level format, to fix what it seem to be memory problem. Now does its normal it take about 4 hour to transfert all the file from my pc to the gps.

This is what my stock gpd look like and its 1 gb.
[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL (v9)
DeviceSerialNumber=
DeviceUniqueID=
RamDiskVersion=20090817
BootLoaderVersion=55136
CurrentMapVersion=835.2423

Has you can see my map is quite outdated.
I have download the 905x, 900x and 890x.
I use the latest FastActivate.

But as the end its always same story cant use the map on gps, also when i do use the installer I do use it on my computer hd at first and then copy the files to the gps, cause if go directly to the gps I got all the time a error but msg error change also all the time.

I been trying for more than 10 hours on this hope someone can help. Hope also I give enough info.

I am in Canada so need to use usa and canada map and 1gb.

Thanks frank

One of the tomtom team will be along shortly to assist you, but for now I've removed your device id and serial number for security reasons.

Well, in the tutorial section is a thread about bootloaders - yours is definately the wrong one otherwise USB transfer would be no issue.
So I assume you already played more with your TT than you should have ;)
Check my 9.485 and 9.500 Navcores, for the USB problem install this bootloader:
5344

You're welcome. I hope it helps. Like DU said, you probably need to upgrade your bootloader so the SD card can be seen.

The key words are in bold face. The 8.412 navcore is old & obsolete.

Only trying to help if I can. BTW, isn't the ONE XL pretty old also? If something works isn't that something to consider?

The most current usable USA & C map is USA_and_Canada v890.4235
You failed to mention your current navcore.

Nope. This is the navcore:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=XXXX
ApplicationVersion=XXXX

It is found in the ttgo.bif file, one line down from:
BootLoaderVersion=55136
